Curses Conquest

Tell us about the issue
I am trying to do the Diablo3 seasonal conquest “Curses” but the Cursed Peat bounty in Act V, which is essential to the conquest will not spawn. I have tried for hours to get it to spawn but it will not. I have seen many players complaining about this in chat. Can you please look into this issue?

You’re correct that the Cursed Peat event is the ideal chest event for this.

You’re incorrect that you need to have the Cursed Peat bounty active for the event to occur.

The event can be present on the map even if there’s no bounty in the Paths of the Drowned, or if a different bounty is active. You should go to the map and look for the ziggurat. If it’s not there, then you go back to town, exit and re-make the game. If you’re just re-making the game, checking to see if Cursed Peat is the bounty and re-making the game if it’s not, then you’ve potentially wasted a lot of games that had the event present.

The Cursed Peat event occurs way more frequently than the bounty for it does.

The issue is that you think the bounty needs to be active when it does not.
I got this done four days ago without it being an active bounty…

There’s no bug here.

As to the bounty itself spawning, it’s somewhat rare so it makes sense that people can feel like it’s not spawning.

It’s just a case of bad RNG, which is also not a bug.

While Cursed Peat does not require to be an active bounty, the presence of certain bounties in the Paths of the Drowned will prevent it from spawning. This is because they occupy the same cell within the map.

So for example if you see the bounty “Burning Man” or others similar, exit and remake the game.

Presence of the ziggurat doesn’t guarantee presence of the cursed chest, either. I’ve always remade the game till I get the Cursed Peat bounty for Curses!/StarsAlign. I can restart multiple times and check the map for Cursed Peat in the time it takes me to actually go and look for the chest when the bounty isn’t there. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I’m under the impression this way is faster on average (though tedious). Usually takes about 20 minutes, give or take. Took me 30 minutes when I did it yesterday. Is it your experience that actually checking for the chest finds it faster on average?

The Ziggurat can also have “King of the Hill” which is an obvious game remake.

The bounty is pretty rare. I do this conquest twice when it comes up (HC/SC) and now 4 times with SSFM. Getting the bounty in 20 minutes of resets is extremely lucky for me, more like 45 min to 2 hours for me. Running the map (which takes like 30 seconds on average), I am usually getting the Peat in about 30 min.

I wasn’t really planning on doing a conquest but running some visions with an UE demon hunter I casually checked out the map in Act 5, and to my surprise the ziggurat with the chest was there. So I quickly changed my build to full power and lowered the difficulty to T10.
The multishot doomslinger is perfect for this challenge. I got 405 kills, more than ever before. Also thanks to the Altar of course.

(Edited to Act 5, see post below :slightly_smiling_face: )

Head on over to Bug Report then, because the ziggurat is supposed to be in Paths of the Drowned in Act V.
