Crusade build for the best game experience

I’m trying to build a Crusader with smite, and I’m unsure how much to make with. Can anyone give me some tips on creating a good Crusader? So far, I have no problems with him staying alive

Don’t bother with Smite. While a couple support items exist for it, that skill recieves no damage buffs from them.

My favorite crusader build is the Captain America. It has reasonable power against groups of enemies but can be tricky to gear (it’s LoD based build) and its single target can be woeful.

Many fun builds. Thornes, bombs , holy & lazy shotgun, condemn, captain America, the list goes on. Check the leaderboards in game and you can scroll through all the options.

There is not much to go with for that build. Using ahkkan set or go LoN ( no set items ), can be useful. However, there are no supporting items to buff it’s damage outside of this.
If you went with slash or punish, you could build around invoker set.

That depends.

What are your goals?

“Best game experience” does not have to mean “complete a GR150 in 10 minutes at paragon 100” since it is a rather personal and open-ended definition.

That said, if you want to get above something like Torment 6, a smite-oriented build is not really going to do it, or would be less fun.

For me, after the lazy bombardier build (thorns - Invoker), this one is pretty satisfying:

Been having a blast with the build Wudijo made for GR90 this season. Even did the chest event successfully on a PS4. Was able to gear up nice and quick for Akkhan Bombardment using this one.
