I played D2 many years ago on PC, but now with kids I plan to play on console. I have a series x and a switch and plan to buy for both so I can play on better system and on the go.
Do I have to be online with the switch at all times to be able to play the same character on Xbox?
Also, if I want to be able to play online with a friend on switch will I be able to play the character offline at some point?
Please give us any details you can on how Switch characters will function?
I’ve not seen anything about cross progression.
As of the press release/news posted, Switch is not available (yet.) Any details would be guesses unless some actual source could be cited which seems as likely as a retardant spontaneously combusting.
Agreed, hoping for an official response from Pez or someone at blizzard. There is no way they don’t know this one month before release.
I am going to say yes. Cross progression is online only.
Offline chars are saved locally and only available locally. They don’t want to mix local chars that might get modded with online chars/progress saved to the Blizz servers/console servers.
Note though - I only play PC and not Console. I know Cross Progression for PC is only for Online chars on Closed Bnet.
That is my going assumption of how it will work, but I have hopes since D3 on switch allows you to play offline even for seasonal if you log in before going offline. But that has no cross-progression.
