I have run must be 500 cow levels. Not one primal.
I find primals in Greater Rifts, Rifts, Vaults, Bounties, and just running around dungeons.

The only usable primal (a gorgeous Unity) I have found this season was in the “not the” cow level.

For a second, a very long second, I thought he was going to talk about a Primal Cow Level. DUDE we don’t even have a Primal Goblin Portal yet. Matter of fact, we don’t have an Ancient “Not a Cow Level” either. WHY?

I also got primal before in cow level but forgot what it was.
My friend got primal in cow yesterday but nothing useful.
How do you even get Primals? I mean, I have 1 Primal, a rather crappy Crusader armor set shoulder…the gold armor set…it sucks to…

In order to unlock access to primals, you need to do a solo GR70 (or higher). Once that’s done, primals can drop by any method you can obtain legendaries, i.e. mob drops, kadala gambling, blacksmith crafting, cube “upgrade rare to legendary”, cube’s “reforge legendary”, bounty caches. The only exception is the cube’s “convert set item” which can’t result in anything other than a standard legendary.
If you’re not sure if you’ve unlocked access to them, it’s easy to check. Whilst seasonal heroes have an achievement (Primal Soul O) non-seasonal heroes don’t get this but your bloodshard cap can tell you. The formula for the your bloodshard cap is…
500 + ( highest solo GR clearance * 10 )
So, if your bloodshard cap is 1200 or higher, you’ve unlocked access to primals. As to getting them, well, they’re roughly 1 in 400 legendaries so, on average, the more legendaries you can get the more primals you’ll get. This generally involves running GRs at the highest level you can complete them at 3-4 minutes per run.
Oh, ive done Solo GR75s, so ive got it unlocked. Ive even got one, but I ask because in all the crap ive killed, all the rifts ive run, all the bounties ive done, ive seen 1 primal…
Relax man…you’re not even p800 in either season or non…“all” the crap you’ve killed isn’t all that much at this point.
the “1 in 400” chance is per legendary. So you could run 50 rifts and get 400 legendaries and still not get a single one, because every single leg drop is a 1 in 400 chance.
Kind of lame that Blizz dropped the primal chance. Was 1% really too high? To drop it to what, less that half of 1% was a good idea? Lame.

LOL, I get so many legendaries its not even funny. Like, oh, idk, 5-9 per Neph Rift and about 5-6 per GR. Never mind the set pieces I see. I have canned so many legendary pieces…
1 in 400 chance for a legendary? I dont even know the drop chances, but 1 in 400…I see them alot more frequently then that.
I’ve only gotten 1 staff all season to get into cow lvl - no Primal. As far as Primals, gotten them from all sources - 17 so far - 2 trashed because red border didn’t show up after id’d. I tend to run XVI rifts if that helps. My WD tends to get more Primals than my Wiz, go figure - crazy RNG.
No-one claimed that 1 in 400 drops are legendary.
1 in 400 legendaries are primal ancient legendaries.
Oh, I see. Sooo, yeah, given my luck with actually truly good things in games, my chances will be more like 1 in 1000 maybe. is there a stat that tracks how many legendaries we have already looted in this game?
