Could Season 27 Be the Best Ever

…according to those-in-the-know and Diablo faithful…Yes…

I stumbled across a few articles yesterday, one in particular at…PCGames…“Fans Burned By Diablo Immortal are Excited by Diablo 3 Season 27”…talked about the huge potential of the “Angelic Crucibles” that can be used to enhance any 70 Legendary gear pcs that will give perfect level Ancient-level Stats…

…but it’s the Three Specific Sanctified Powers for each class that has the real excitement…and reading the list i can see why…between the boost in gear and some serious boost in powers, this could be something to see and play even for solo players…

Best ever may be a stretch. We will see how things play in the PTR and what changes occur due to PTR.

I’m expecting it to be similar to the other seasons. People will play the PTR for a bit and then move on. The same with the actual season.

Small themes aren’t ever going to be “the best ever” for a game this old. You’d need practically a full game revamp to get any real long term interest, and that game is going to be Diablo 4, not 3.

Could it be that because DI was such a disaster any new decent concept is looked at as a beacon of refreshment?

I’m not sure how this can be the best Season for us Console when the Switch & PlayStation versions are modded.

We also have no idea as to how powerful the three powers will be. For me as a Monk the damage will need to be significant given they nerfed the Inna’s by 8 tiers!

The Season looks pretty awful to me (but I might be mistaken, of course!), as the Theme only influences a number of specific builds. None of my favorites actually benefit from this, so I’m not that excited… But, who knows? I may find a build I haven’t liked before to be awesome now…

Now, as to the reworks/changes/nerfs:

Goodbye Inna… We drop from 30,000 bonus damage to 9,000… That’s only 8 tiers? It seems way more, and I feel that this destroys Inna the way Masquarade was destroyed…

Akhan: So we need pets now, because we didn’t have a pet build… I’m not sure about this one… In order to get as many pet-benefits as possible, we’ll need to equip some more stuff we didn’t need before… What will that do to the damage potential? Could be fun, could be really weak… We’ll see…

Tal Rasha: Yeah, so we now need TWO staff’s (staves?)… That’ll work…

DMO: Having the bubble move along could be cool… I’ll be trying this, allthough I would have liked another signature enhancer to create signature-wiz…

Trag: Well, this set couldn’t get worse (allthough I always loved the idea), so I’ll be trying this for sure. I love Iron Rose Death Nova (topped the Inarius-leaderboards for a while with it), but I wonder: will the free blood nova count as a life-spending skill? If it does, pretty cool, if not, Iron Rose is useless with Trag… Time will tell…

I just hate seeing these “hits random enemy” buffs. Thanks, I really wanted to one-shot that random enemy in the corner of my screen, not the 3 Elites in front of me.

So, I’m considering some of those Angelic Powers, and a few things jump out right away…

Necro: The AotD power… Rathma is all about setting up the nuke… Is this power going to CONSTANTLY NUKE EVERYTHING???

Barb: Almost everyone is playing WoW WhirlRend/Zodiac anyway… Two of these powers seem to benefit that build… Kind of lame, or an I missing something?

DH: Why would you even want to turn your Cluster Arrow into a Disintegrate beam?

Witchy: The Haunt power looks useless, as most mobs will come to you anyway (assuming this will be played with Jade), the Horrify power looks cool but not THAT powerfull as nobody has room for the Horrify Mask, and the Garg thing sort of grants you Wormwood for free… Is Witchy getting the short end of the stick AGAIN?

Wizard: The Storm Armor thing looks useless, the Arcane Orb thing, too, as Frozen Orb is the only usefull one, and the Missile thing would be cool if Wizards could use Depth Diggers and Simplicity’s strength…

Monk: I cannot picture what the WOL power would do, I don’t get the Generator power, and while the 7-sided power sounds cool, without support for 7-sided in legendaries, it’ll still do nothing, or is this usefull with Uliana?

Sader: Two powers to go with Seeker… Will this make it suck less, or more? And the other one is random… I don’t see this at all?

I can see Barb benefitting here (WoW or HotA), I can see Rathma hitting 150’s with this, but the rest look like random effects that look cool or are nice, but not really having any real effect…

Mind you, I suck at theory-crafting, so I maybe completely wrong…

Raekor Boulders and LoD HOTA have been quite popular this season.

True, but Reakor is the Flavor of the Month, and HotA got some major buff recently. Yet HotA also gets love this season… It would have seemed more interesting to get the extra powers to line up with H90, Earth or IK (the 4,000 still looks to be WAY to low, BTW)… I’m pretty sure next season most Barbs will be going back to WoW…

crap seasonal theme. Half a week for the seasonal journey and then quit the game for another 3 months. it’s a complete waste of time to play seasons anymore than this these days. I’ve pretty much already moved on to D2R and COTG.

You’re not even going to try one of the new builds/possibilities? There’s GOT to be more to life than Shadowhunter, right? Allthough I admit that after Shadow getting the snub in the Ethereal season, it would have been nice to have one of the powers for DH benefit Shadow. Anyone can use the Vengeance power, but that one seems one of the lamest on the list… Something like double projectiles, exploding projectiles, double/triple effect Shadowpower, Vengeance getting all runes, an update enabling Chakram to be a contender for Shadow, whatever…

Nope, zero interest mate. Blizzard have screwed the seasonal challenges listings on the PS4 and haven’t fixed it, despite it now being 2 seasons. It’s kind of hard to do the challenges if you don’t know what they are. I was always top 10 every season for them. Now I CBF.

Blizzard seems to think that GOD DH build is the only DH build in the game too. A theme that targets only 1 build per character class is crap. They can’t even balance the builds - s6 impale is ~10 GRs weaker than m6’s top build. I shouldn’t be forced to play a build(s) that I don’t enjoy, just to get the maximum powerful flavour build of the month. The builds should be balanced within 1 GR of each other. It ain’t rocket science, and despite what some trolls here say, it is indeed very much possible to do so.

After several years fighting against this game, I admit defeat. I have moved on from Diablo 3. It is a lost cause.

Season 27 looks to be a great one. can’t wait to see what tweaks that will make this week. Last season was a bust, but this looks to be a good one again.

With the wizard already being as powerful as it is, I really wonder how the patch is going to enhance it.

Same here… Although I’ll try the wizard upgrades to Tal & DMO, I can’t see how these two are going to be serious contenders all of a sudden… If anything, DMO might just be more fun to play, creating a Battle Mage at close range, but it should really have included more power to Signatures or Exploding Blast or other close Range stuff… I just don’t see it at all…

They won’t. I don’t even bother watching Rax’s videos anymore. Tal Rasha is a great! Then he runs slow GR122 with 1300p. What a joke!

zBarb is gonna be fun to play and I’ll check after the final patch to see where Rathma lands, but it’s back to FB Twister dominating the meta. No real changes for console. Short season again.

Get on PC. I am in group with several people now from xbox. Rathma + Trang combo is really nice.

And yeah the WW power will make pushing super easy for FB. Two zbarb (potentially 1 HoTA) with 4 corner festering, pull everything to a corner. Get pylons at end of first floor condy + power. I’m not sure if one floor festering is possible on console with lack of density compared to PC.

Sorry, but any theme that just targets a small handful of builds is a terrible theme and massively bad game balancing. s25 did it right, s26 was crap, s27 is gonna be crap. It’s that simple.

according to the PTR, so far this theme is benefitting a lot of builds per class for all classes. but you can play whatever you want. whatever makes you happy.
