Converted Gems not able to be combined

Hi there,

I was using the Kanai’s Cube to convert GEMS, i.e. 9 gems with essence to different gem types (Darkness of Radament). The cube converted these gems OK and I was left with a group of flawless gems, which I then went to Covetous Shen to convert but they were not showing in the combine gems menu, i.e. I am unable to combine them to create higher value gems even though I have a stack of them.

I am using a MAC on OSX 10.12.6 on D3 v2.6.6.61291

Do you have enough Gold and Death’s Breaths to combine them?

Try this:

  1. Go to the Jeweler.
  2. Access his Combine Gems tab.
  3. In the Show field change Have Materials to All.

Can you see them now?

If so, not a bug.

Another possibility is that you haven’t obtained the recipe for that gem type / rank yet. The higher gem combo ranks aren’t trained, they are obtained by finding patterns for them inside Bounty caches and/or from Odious Collector goblins.

Thanks for the tips guys. I cannot see them if I switch to ALL. I have converted higher gems in the past and I have had no issues.

Take a screenshot, upload it to a picture hosting website and post the link in your reply.

Then, as Meteorblade suggested, you do not have the Jeweler Designs for those Gems yet.

All Royal and Flawless Royal Gems have Designs that must first be taught to Shen before he can craft those Gems. There are 5 different types of Gems, so that’s 10 Designs you need. Shen must also be Level 12 to craft them. (I’m sure some or all of this you already know).

If he has learned all the Designs, he is Level 12 and you have the “Show” filter set to “All”, then you indeed have a bug.

I suggest you follow Boubou’s advice and post a screenshot showing what you are seeing, or not seeing, on Shen’s “Combine Gems” tab.
