Why is there no controller support for this game on pc if its already made to support the controller on console?
Here’s the thing, D3 on PC was designed exclusively for mouse+keyboard combo. A lot of things underneath rely on them. Slapping controller support is not as simple as people think, a lot of things need to be altered to support it. The console versions of D3 are much different than PC version to support controllers.
D4 will have controller supprort on PC as it has been built from the ground up for both control methods in mind.
Because your playing on a computer not a console
Wow… there might be more of those then Bravata quitting forever threads.
Yea, that would be the only way I’d play it. Not going through this mouse, keyboard everything is loaded on the left mouse button design. I get around it using AutoHotKey, or I wouldn’t be able to play at all. My mouse hand is shot from work/video games.
There is support but it is unofficial. Console was written well after the release of Diablo 3 (2-3 years?) and it has its own series of nastiness - why would you want the devs to purposefully add “features” to PC when it works just fine, minus some issues with connectivity?
I always bind the least used skill (like ult/buff/aura) on Left Mouse Button and I move by Force Move on keyboard to left click as rare as possible. And still it is too much with all inventory and item management.
They should have add LMB rebinding years ago
Can’t wait for pad support too. I hope that PS4 pad will work with this touchpad to simulate mouse. Would be great for item management.
If not I will play dungeons/fight/exploration on the pad and towns/inventory on M&K
AutoHotKey, you can assign mouse press to a keyboard key. I use the numpad with numlock enabled and the following assignments.
Numpad8::LButton
Numpad9::RButton
Numpad2::^LButton
Then assign:
Potion - /
Inventory - *
Small Map - -
Map - +
Spells on 7, 4, 5, 6
what do you think about d2 resurrected, d:i, and d4 having native controller support on pc?
My Diablo IV experience better come with full-on Power Pad and Power Glove support. Screw this potential VR-style approach - I want old-school Nintendo power!
I hope blizzard reads this:
Ok…… it’s easy to say that the console port of this game is more popular than the PC version of the game.
How about you discontinue sale of the regular version of Diablo 3 and sell the console port? Because mouse and keyboard is not the most popular method to play games anymore. Plus i am sure people are emulating the console version because the controller support is so good and spot on.
Also i am sure people will be more than happy to pay for the eternal collection that has the same controls as the console version. I own this game on my PC and Switch; most of the time i prefer the switch version because I enjoy the simplicity of a controller. I have also being playing a lot of Diablo 2 and 4 on my PC with a controller and ASUS ROG ally because the controller support is just that good.
In no way am i saying the mouse and keyboard are obsolete. It’s just peoples preferred way of enjoying your games is changing.
Is it? I’ve never seen any statistics for that. The PC version sold around 20 million copies before any console version was released though.
Do they though?
Because it makes zero sense from a financial standpoint.
They absolutely are not, that would be a nightmare.
Again, they would not.
Actually, the PC version is far more popular.
