Control Impairing Effect Immunity Question

I’ve been curious about this for multiple seasons:

Why is Wormhole not classed as a Control Impairing Effect?

Any time I have Immunity or a shield pylon I still get Wormholed.

Control impairing means it hampers your movement, e.g. slow, freeze, stun, feared. The wormhole’s just a teleport. You have no detriment to your movement after you pop out at the destination.

It should be considered a control impairing effect since you do lose control even for a split second…It takes you from one place to another place which is generally undesired.

If that’s the case, why does immunity affect Vortex? Isn’t that essentially the same but reversed?

There is no hit % chance on Vortex, and monsters cast it periodically, generally every 15 or 20 seconds, though they may do so more or less often. Vortex can not be dodged or avoided or resisted, and surviving against it requires a player to be ready to react the instant the Vortex is cast, pulling them into danger.

Maybe you’re out-distancing it, or there’s a rock between you and the boss, and so on…

There seems to be a maximum distance outside of which Vortex will not work; character who remain off the screen are very seldom Vortexed in, and it’s a pull, not a warp, so geographical features such as walls and other obstacles might stop the pull before a character is yanked right next to the enemy.

Diablowiki has been more or less deserted for years, and most of its infos are outdated.

I can confirm that Vortex is affected by immunities, I’ve tested it enough to be certain.

Wormhole works differently, it is avoidable and predictable, to the point it can even be useful. I guess this is why it gets a different treatment.
Another “kinda” CC affix unaltered by immunity is Wall. The rules are not very consistent on this matter.

After playing again today I can confirm with absolute certainty that Immunity does affect Vortex.

While Wormhole may not be classed as Control Impairing, like Freeze, Jailer or Nightmarish, etc, it can still have an effect on the control of my character when playing some builds as it can interrupt such things as Channeling, Taeguk or Life per Hit.
