Constant "There was an Error " CODE 1016

happens every 5-10 minutes. Somteimes 20-30 minutes. Random.
My connection is stable and fine. flushed dnd and still nothing.
All other games are fine.
Have never seen this error since 2012.

Hey there,

Error 1016 is a generic disconnection message which can be caused by a lot of different things. If you haven’t already, I’d recommend going through the rest of our Diablo 3 disconnection troubleshooting.

Since this is happening intermittently you may want to get a WinMTR test running in the background while you play, and then post the results once you’ve “captured” a disconnect so we can take a look.

Hop six - ae32-xcr1.att.cw.net - has 48% packet loss.

A quick WHOIS lookup for that…
http://whois.domaintools.com/cw.net
…shows this as belonging to Vodaphone in Frankfurt.

Seems a call to your ISP is in order, show them this trace.

So this is purely my ISPs problem and not battle.net server routing ?

One of your ISP’s network nodes is dropping 48% of packets.
That’s definitely your ISP’s problem, not Blizzard’s.

Only one hop had data lost; the following hops had no lost. Not necessary a problem.

However, I can’t find any issue at server end too. The latency was stable at 180-190 ms at the server end.

Make sure you run WinMTR test while you are experiencing disconnection.

If you doubt, you may contact your ISP for clarification.

Thanx i will contant ISP. Frankfurt definitely is weird, i also noticed huge lags in Frankfurt’s Path of Exile server as well. So there is some kind of weird problem.
I am not the only one who has 1016 error though. One of my friend from EUR also disconnects all the time.
