Are the console players screwed out of trying to finish the season 33? Been on xbox and can’t play any seasonal characters. Sounds like other console players can’t play when they signed in during the temp ending of season 33.

Season 33 is working without a hitch on console without any issues. At least I haven’t had any. Still enjoying it even after completing all the milestones. Did a challenge rift yesterday and leveled up a whisper of atonement this morning.
There are lots of console players that have been locked out of the season since the weekend.
Luckily, there’s only 9 days left in S33, so at least there’s an end in sight.

I completed a Challenge Rift (twice) and cannot claim the Challenge Rift cache on any seasonal character - no matter what I do. They busted this with whatever they did with the rollback, methinks. Sucks as I wanted to have a little more fun before season end on SSF mode on a new character, but my motivation is gone since I can’t get the cache to start off.
Thank you for this statement. I recognize that you don’t speak for Blizzard, but it’s the closest thing I’ve seen to official acknowledgment that they are even aware that many console people are locked out of playing with their friends.
Is there any way to know if the characters that are currently unplayable will become usable after season 33 ends the second time around? People are asking if they’ll be able to recover that clutch primal on a bricked character, for example.
For that matter, do we even know if whatever is preventing the creation of working seasonal characters will resolve with the next seasonal transition? Is there a possibility that people currently unable to create seasonal characters or rebirth into s33 will also be locked out of S34? And if Blizzard has been silent about people being locked out of seasons for a week so far, is that what we can expect if the trouble continues through the changes of the next few weeks? Do they even care?
A little reassurance that “your game will be restored to functional next Sunday and you will not be forced to delete your saves and many years of progress” would not go amiss.
