Hello console players,
For those haven’t been able to play with newly created seasonal characters, can you try making a new seasonal character and see if it’s working normally now? Don’t try with the old char that rolled over. Try with a newly made seasonal character.
Whatever the outcome, can you report back here? Be sure to include which console your using.
On ps5, created a new seasonal, and it won’t let me create a game, saying “non-seasonal character” selected.

Nintendo switch here, lets me make a new one but can’t play it, says its a non seasonal when i try to log in
Xbox s/x here I’ve been trying every few hours since they put the season back up . Obviously can’t use the character I was using. I’ve tried making probably 10 new toons the last few days. Says I’m making seasonal toon, but soon as I’m back to the screen to start it says it’s a non seasonal character. And there’s been no updates to n any forums for the last 3 days . I get that it’s old but we still all like it a hell of a lot more that d4 . I’m really hoping I’m not just stuck not playing til season 34
Exact same issue on PS5. It lets us create one, but doesn’t let us play it.
I tried this on ps4 with no luck. This doesn’t fix the issue. I also tried copying my save to a different console, then deleting my current seasonal characters before creating a new one but the same problem happens. I’ve also tried creating new non seasonal characters and rebirthing them to seasonal, doesn’t work, tried creating ssf seasonal character still the same error. It would seem the problem is to do with psn accounts being totally locked out of the remaining season, I suspect because the items and paragon have already transferred to non seasonal.
Just as a side note, there isn’t a fix offered here. It’s more to concentrate the results in an easy to find location.
I’m on PS4, I tried making all 4 seasonal options (hardcore, solo) and all of them still cause “you cannot start a seasonal game while local players have a non seasonal hero selected”
No luck on Switch. Can create new season characters, but can’t play with it.
Can’t make a new seasonal hero, I get as far as character creation and then it gives me the typical error message. I can, however, make a non seasonal character. I have all my paragon points available to me from level 1 on a brand new character. Don’t wanna screw up my whole account so I might just not play at all until next season. Really wish they didn’t ever try to “fix” it. All they accomplished was making the problem worse for just about everyone involved. Based on what I’ve seen here, and on the P.C. forums is that everyone would have been better off if they just left the season ended. Nobody would have wonky accounts, cheaters wouldn’t be able to top leaderboards with low Paragon, and console players would actually be able to play the game.
Mine still isnt working on the PS4 version , very sad . USA

I am on Xbox series x. My spouse bought the game and has it linked to their bnet (so no account refreshes). Her season characters work - they were never used during the hours it was down. I made the mistake of logging in, seeing the season was done, and then proceeded to xfer gear and delete characters. Now like the rest, I can create season characters but cannot play them. Here’s to hoping that s34 fixes my account issue.
I try the same to create a new character and doesn’t work. But I try with another user on Nintendo switch and allows me to login.
Still no help for those of us locked out of season it’s been days
I may have found a work around to create a new player. If you turn on airplane mode, then open the game on your switch. You can create a new player. Once the new player is started you can turn airplane mode off by holding the home button. When I did this I am still playing the new character but have access to my stash and mail box. I also have all my crafting levels, etc. I haven’t tried this on my main character. Not perfect but better than not playing at all.
