Conquest question

I’m trying to complete one of the conquests. It’s the “Boss Mode” conquest. It says to kill the following bosses in 20 minutes, but doesn’t give a list of the bosses. How am I supposed to know which ones to kill?

Click, Y → Season (top right) → Conquests (bottom left) → Boss mode.

Basically every act bosses (horned demon on the map) you can think of, not fringe one like Vidian.

Also to be aware of, is that the timer starts as soon as you enter the game, not from when you kill your first boss.

  1. There’s no timer on the UI, so you may want to set your cell phone with a stop watch or a 20 minute alarm so you know if you’re too slow and can start another game.

  2. Find a good guide. The one on Icy Veins is old, but still mostly accurate.

  3. You can go down in difficulty to T10. You don’t have to try on T16, if your speed build gear is like mine was (ghettofabulous)

  4. Focus only on speed. You’re there for one purpose and that’s that conquest. No loot. No killing excess mobs. Just the bosses. Your biggest challenge is navigating the random maps and hoping not to lose too much time backtracking.

Good luck!

All 16 of them in 20 minutes? Imfugginpossible. That’s almost one per minute. It takes that long, actually longer, to even get to some of them.

It is very doable (unlike campaign in 60 min). You need a speed build of course. Echoing Fury with Rachels ring, Krenns Belt or Chilaniks, stuff like that. And it takes a bit of luck.
With 2 players it is easier of course.

Yeah, but some of them are much faster than a minute.

Sure, it takes over a minute to find Adria.

But it takes a lot less than a minute to get to Skeleton King, Maghda, Belial, Kulle, Azmodan, Rakanoth, etc. Those bosses all have relatively quick static routes, so you gain time on those bosses.

Cutscenes/slow death animations for Belial, Diablo, Malthael slow you down a bit. But on the whole the conquest is pretty straightforward if you have a decent idea how the maps are laid out.

Map knowledge is pretty important. E.g. for Caverns of Areneae, beginners waste a lot of time here thinking they need to check every nook and cranny. But there’s only 4 spots you need to check.

When you enter the first room, the path to the main room is either to the north or south. Once you follow that path, the rest of the map is laid out in a square of four larger tiles. It’s always on the outer edge of one of those four larger tiles. The north/south edges always lead either back to the starting area, to another tile in the square grid, or a dead-end.

So there’s literally 4 spots on the map you have to check. That’s it.

Kinda like this (letters are big tiles, numbers are potential spots to check for path to Queen Areneae)

Enter----|
         |
   1-----A-----D-----4
         | |
   2-----B-----C-----3

You just need to orient yourself on that square (easy to do based on which direction you enter from, sometimes you’ll enter from the bottom instead of from the top like I have it drawn) then check 4 spots. One of those spots will have a longer path that curves a bit and leads to another big room. That’s the path you want. Then once you are on the long path to Areneae, the door to her is always to the north from the room on that path.

One thing to add to what others have mentioned is that it’s useful to make a game where you get “Kill Adria” and “Kill Queen Aranae” as bouties. The bounty arrow makes it easier to navigate the otherwise pretty convoluted tilesets, in particular Corvus.

Just use whatever equipment enhances your mobility skill(s) and increases your speed, and you’ll be fine.

Do the uber versions count for the conquest?

I’ll also add that Maltheal is always to the top left of the wp now “behind you”. He used to be a huge pain to find but they changed the pandemonium fortress around.

I haven’t tested that but I don’t think so.

No. Boss Mode is every boss from all 5 acts except for Vidian, on T10 or higher difficulty.
