So I’ve tried out the Mammoth LoD build (using OID for dmg and dmg reduction), as well as Typhon’s with both frost and arcane runes. So far I can’t see a huge difference in damage between them all. As far as frost vs arcane goes I do like the longer range of the arcane rune. The only thing that may be offsetting things for me is that I do not yet have full ancients in my LoD build.
Any thoughts? I wanna know if anyone has compared them all and seen if one is a clear winner for overall dps. I dont care if one does more single target damage, because if that’s all you’re going for, your rifts are gonna take a long time to clear.

While the hits might be similar, frost hydra are using cones so the heads are hitting everything in the area. Arcane are firing projectiles. Wouldn’t Frost provide better clearing so long as you can get targets into a tight area?
I think Arcane Hydra projectiles still explode for a small amount of AoE, don’t they?
Definitely less AoE than Frost Hydra, but it’s not single target like Lightning Hydra.
Arcane projectiles burst to hit everything in a 10 yard radius.
I will say I tested arcane hydra (with Temporal Flux) and using Disintegrate/Intensify a couple of days ago and found it to perform comparably to Frost for both damage and control.
Try WoF stacking for Arcane Hydra…
