Think we will see the return of a community buff during this time ? WOW got the 100% exp that’s pretty crazy but feel like they could of gave out free 1 week log ins. Only because i have not seen a free week sent out in ages.
It is possible. I have not heard anything about it though. I think the WoW XP buff is very well timed, especially with the drudgery that is leveling.
For D3, I would not want something that messes with Season like XP. I would love a fun Double Goblin buff though. Lets folks do some cosmetic hunting, etc. That would be just enjoyable.
I think WoW has only done one free access weekend ever. Normally they let anyone play below level 20 although it has social and trade restrictions to stop gold spammers. They also removed the cost for the games from 2004 - Legion. A sub is all that is required to play those. No buying the game. The only paid game content the current BfA expansion. Oh, and you can use in-game gold to pay for game time tokens so those with time might want to use gold instead of cash if they have time to farm.
EDIT - this might be a good time though for a free WoW weekend, Free OW weekend, etc along with sales on the pay to play games.
The community buffs on a rotation every two weeks during a season (and ongoing for all seasons) might actually increase player participation. This season’s theme is somewhat underwhelming for me because it doesn’t shake up the meta build except for one class (Necro). With a community buff like double goblins active I might actually log in for some mindless monster slaying for a while. As it is, without a real incentive to log in this season, I’m off in PoE land with the Delirium league, though a huge chunk of that is I can play that game whereas D3 is virtually unplayable due to the DDoS and server issues as a result.
Double Goblin buff is weak as goblin is rare. If they not fancy with Exp buff, then they can use Double Bounty then. At least double bounty is consistent than double goblin buff.
But still, I prefer double Exp buff.
