Come up with a new story line and advance the map to fight
New story lines were added in the form of Diablo:Immortal and Diablo IV.
New content for D3 has been mainly in Adventure Mode and Season Themes, both of which lie outside the Story.
There has been no addition to the D3 story since ROS Expansion was released almost 10 years ago.
