Combat: Sweeping Wind won't go to 23 stacks!

Season 33: Playing with Patterns of Justice + Captain Crimson’s Trimmings. Have a Vengeful Wind equipped. Cube contains (Balance, Kyoshiro’s Soul, Ring of Royal Grandeur. Buzzing around with the full 23 stacks of Sweeping Wind, annihilating everything.

Just got a drop of Ancient Ethereal Greater Talons which has “Increases the maximum stack count of Sweeping Wind by 10, and increases the damage by 788%” as one of its basic attributes. I equip the item, and Sweeping Wind doesn’t increase from 13 stacks to 23 stacks as expected.

I was really hoping to see what 23 stacks of Sweeping with 2100% increased damage * 798% * 20000% for non-critical hits would do. Love the build, but sad that it’s not viable because of a bug.

You already have Vengeful Wind equipped and the Ethereal has the Vengeful Wind attribute. They do not stack so you won’t see 23 stacks.

Equip Won Khim Lau instead of Vengeful Wind.
Not a Bug. It works the same as if you had an item equipped and in the Cube.

edit: Vengeful Wind is more useful for Sunwuko which gets extra damage per stack.
The only real benefit to PoJ is extra speed. Sweeping Wind is not the main damage dealer .
Tempest Rush and Cyclone Strike (with Won Khim) do most of the damage.

But it doesn’t say anything about the ancient ethereal having the Vengeful Wind Attribute specifically. I currently have an ethereal wrist sword that is still better then any Woh Khim Lau I’ve been able to get or cube up, and it’s got the same property as a normal WKL. Sadly, it’s only 593% instead of 600%, but them’s the breaks.

I do love the POJ having > +100% speed for movement, but as another observed, the TR is doing most of the heavy lifting when it comes to damage generation. Well aware of the Sunwuko/POJ differences, having played both estensively. It would have been better to have the game not permit the duplicate attribute, rather than what it did.

It would be slightly annoying if every time the game would warn about that incompatibility of duplicate properties. Maybe only as a configurable option in the settings… still it’s easier to remember the simple fact - the same properities don’t stack.
