Cinematics not playing when starting new game

Hi I started a game last year and I quit playing the game and now I want to actually finish this game so I decided to make a new character but I just realized that the intro cinematic didnt play. Is there a way to fix this that its not me going into the main menu to watch each cinematic? I also have the auto skip cinematics off, so I dont know what its wrong.

Try opening your D3Prefs.txt file in your Documents/Diablo III folder and deleting these lines:

PlayedCutscene0 “31”
PlayedCutscene1 “31”
PlayedCutscene2 “23”
PlayedCutscene3 “143”
PlayedCutscene4 “159”

(The numbers in quotes may not be exactly like yours. But, the lines should start the same).


There’s nothing wrong. It’s always been this way. Once the cinematics are flagged, they no longer show in subsequent play-through.

Only Class cinematics play when creating a new Class.
