i have been playing for 10 years and havent seen it once. i really wanted the wings but idk if its possible for the gem to drop for me. i get making it hard, but i know people that have farmed chiltara for years and have never gotten the stone.

RNG cave with a RNG boss that has a RNG chance to drop an item 0.1% of the time. It’s 1 of 2 item grinds that keep the core meaning of what D2 brought us for many years!
But hey… the Never Ending Questions was the problem with the season remember???

I did it in 2013 when she was much rarer but then we had channels for that crap…I said to myself never… So far, no drop, but she did drop like 10 legendary belts so far…
This type of activity shouldn’t be in the game, it doesn’t rhyme with anything. Solo fishing got “fixed” and now this - remaking the game is part of the task. It’s not tradition, nostalgia or whatever, it’s plain stupid. I’ve been at it for over three hours now, and I’m beginning to question if I really want to continue the season that bad. On top of that, I have to do it during the night, to avoid queues.

Only 20? I can’t even remember 20 at this point.
Did get lucky with the other rare drops for the Altar, so I suppose I should have expected this.
I could be worse, I have not even seen the act 3 bounty that spawns it.
Don’t hunt the bounty. Just avoid the icefall caves bounty, otherwise run the map. Chiltara appears very often now in cavern of frost level 2 (not always) so it’s worth running the map. She dropped the gemstone for me after 29 kills.
The only problem compared with other tedious drops like cosmic wings or wirt’s original leg is that you can’t really team up, since finding Chiltara is easy but the drop rate is low.

I got other 3 all in same game that dropped the plan, so yes, uber lucky there… and then 40 runs now and nothing… that is 40 killings, so prob 80 total runs…
All they have to do is change one freaking decimal on this one for any of the three RNG weights and the situation would improve. Eleven years in and they still haven’t done this simple task because apparently extreme tedium = difficulty I guess. Or something.

Thanks, didnt know it was also a non bounty spawn.
So far 2 goblin bandit shrines, rainbow portal goblin and 3 chiltara. No gemstone but plenty of other nice things.

I did the staff in about 4 hours, all but maybe 15 mins of that was the gemstone. Everything else was first drop, except the plans were drop 3 and the mushroom took maybe a half dozen runs.
I did the gemstone by constantly resetting the map, checking for Caverns of Frost, then killing the boss. Ironically, I didn’t get a drop until the Bounty “Kill Chiltara”. That was the only time I received that bounty.

Same thing for me, and that was 5 hours in. (With maybe an hour of that being in queue)
Just to make it clear for those looking for the gemstone, I had the kill Chiltara bounty twice in my runs and she did not drop it. So bounty and drop are unrelated.
Yeah. It’s just funny when the game seems to show mercy.

Ain’t that the truth! For some reason I focused on the gemstone yesterday for like an hour between levels 30 - 35 and got it! Makes me want to farm the rest of the staff before level 70! Guess I ruined my rng luck for D4 now and forever…
She’s a ***** for sure, but it is so satisfying when she drops the gem. She’s definitely a tease though. I have gotten 2 legendary belts from her, and Jeebus it is soul crushing.
I don’t get it why make this gem so rare in the first place? No point in that rly. That thing is hardly needed in any activity other than the current altar feature… just boring and not adding anything fun to the gameplay
I’ve been farming Chiltara for 5+ hours intead of actually playing the game and still no gem drop. Nice job blizz. Besides so many people resetting the game non stop to farm that gem is the main reason of the queues and lags we are having.
