Hi, I have a question about getting the gibbering gemstone from Chiltar.
Do I have to be on a certain Torment level for Chiltara to drop the item I need to make the staff? I’ve tried on Normal and Torment 16 but never side drops. it. I know it is a very rare chance but I’d just like to know if I can continue to try on normal skill to go faster
I keep getting bounties to clear ice fall caves or some other thing that involves Ice fall, a few times I got caverns of frost Chiltara never showed up
If the bounty doesn’t show. One of the two will always be up it takes less than a minute to check the area. If it’s CoF Chilltara might be there but if it’s IFC then reset game and try again.
I guess it’s RNG if Chiltara is there, seems like the last 3 Caverns of Frost I found has no Chiltara. This is almost as Painful as this weeks Challenge rift.
I have gotten Chiltara to show up 2 out of 3 runs on average. Still no drop. Now its the only thing left to get for the parts. lol
Took awhile to get the plans too.
I think the whole playing from Campaign thing is still just RnG. Doubt it honestly matters where you farm it from, what level you farm it at or what mode you are in.
Its either going to drop, or its not. And it seems to be one of the unluckiest, I mean:
You first have to get the cave to spawn.
Then you need it to spawn Chiltara.
Then it needs to drop the Gibbering. And the particular chance of the item dropping from Chiltara is pretty low in itself. lol
So yeah. Its a hard one to farm for.
I mean, once I got the Mysterious cave to show up, I got the Mysterious chest and got the Rainbow.
Same thing for the Leroric (once the logs are clickable) and the Mushroom (once the room shows up).
You only have to get the first instance to happen.
The plans from Izual is a RnG and two step like the others, whereas the Gibbering is a 3 step RnG. So that makes it the hardest one in my opinion.
Read my comment above - IF Cavern of Frost spawns she is 100% guaranteed to be in there. It doesn’t spawn each time, but you have removed one layer of RNG.
Adventure mode - IF CoF spawns and IF Chiltara is in there maybe you get the GG. 3 layers
Campaign Mode - IF CoF spawns she will be in there and then maybe you get GG. 2 layers
The thing I found and I don’t know if this is to be True. In the family we now have 4 accounts. On every account when the gem stone drop. Chiltara was the last one to be killed. If you kill Chiltara before that no gem stone. Plus I’m not saying that will work all the time either.
I’ve done the run about 20 times in adventure mode (clear cav quest). Chiltara has appeared about 1/3 of the time. Still farming when either quests is available.
so for adventure mode, you have around a 2% chance of getting the Gemstone on game creation.
Chiltara is in the cave every time it spawns.
so for campaign mode, you have around a 2.5% chance of getting the Gemstone on game creation. Your odds go from 1 out of 50 to 1 out of 40 if you don’t mind the 30 minutes it takes to speed run through the campaign to that point.
TL;DR Getting the Gibbering Gemstone is a simple exercise in pain.
WOW just found out what cave and what act Chiltara is in!!!
The point I was making is a lot of times Chiltara yes is near the End. There are a lot times Chiltara can be near the middle too. What I’m saying is every one of the drops came from Chiltara all by itself. No other monsters around.
Before this season and in the 3 past season on 3 accounts. I have run that cave maybe a 1000 times between all 3 acc. I got the gem stone to drop once in 3 seasons. So you think I know what is going on here or maybe not.
No Chiltara doesn’t spawn every time. I have it where about 33% Chiltara wasn’t there. I did 50 runs one time. 50% the cave wasn’t there. 33% of the time Chiltara wasn’t there.
In Campaign mode she does. Alex didn’t specify that. Campaign mode removes one layer of RNG, so makes it slightly more likely to obtain. Either try that way, or not - your choice.
