Cheaters on twitch

Are those games monetized with active viewerships?

Twitch sucks anyways. Is it even for gaming anymore?

Can’t wait for Amazon to throw it in it trash where it belongs

It was for seggsytime for a hot minute, but I think they’re walking those policies back again.

Honestly though I understand the frustration. If someone is publicly breaking the rules, you’d expect there to be consequences. When there aren’t, it feels unfair. Because it is unfair. It’s literally the definition of the term.

My counterpoints though, are that A.) context is important, and B.) rules are almost never fair to begin with.

Will never happen. They earn too much on it as is. Besides I think it has some good sides to it

Even in older games that aren’t monetized in the same way also calls it out.

Even the runescape community calls out botters and scammers. It even reached Asmongolds channel a while back, if you remember the whole controversy about a certain moderator, Odablock and some other woman involved with the moderator, apparently stealing and scamming people for ingame money or something, i think it also included RMT. Odablock was later unbanned after he was cleared.

What I’m trying to get at, is it seems more normalized to cheat in D3.
I even had a run in a few days ago when I went the wrong way in a public group and I jokingly said “Sorry, I don’t have gps”, and someone else said “I do” and proceeded to instantly head to every single elite and champion pack in the GR.

It saddens me that we are at this point and I really wish we would bonk down harder on it. Refuse to play with people that cheat, etc. Shun them from the community.

Diablo has always had cheating controversies. Diablo 1 had item duping and eventually got cracked and dumped, at which point there were 1-hit mouseover kills and infinite HP scripts. D2 had open Bnet, with obvious ramifications, but it also had bugged weapons (Iths), maphacks, dupes, trade hacks, bots, PK scripts, etc. D3 had turbohud and whatever this “zoom out” thing is (haven’t looked that up but I’ve seen people complain about it here). D4 had gold exploits, seasonal-to-eternal dupe/transfers, and mat exploits.

There’s always hacks and cheats and bugs and exploits, is my point.

Now, I do agree that ideally, we’d have none of that stuff. And ideally, Blizz would care equally about ALL their games and IP’s. And ideally, we’d ban and there would eventually be no cheaters. And ideally, I also would be over 6’ tall and have a beautiful wife and not have to work for a living and the temperature outside would never stray from 72 degrees Farenheit with no humidity.

But we don’t live in an ideal world. There are cheaters. It sucks, but it’s the truth.

Incorrect. I dont care about cheaters.

What I do care about is all these losers who have nothing better to do with their life then whine about cheaters.

A small distinction perhaps, but a distinction none the less.

It seems like every week someone is whining about cheaters, bots and the leaderboard.

Like alas poor Yorick I cant get on the leaderbaord. Whatever am I to do?

Get over it already.

People say “whining” as a condescending way to describe legitimate complaints about a known problem.

Cheaters hope people will “shut up” or “get over it” so they can do what they do without worry of punishment.

Why don’t you follow your own advice then?
I care about cheaters since I have been gaming for most of my life in some way or another. Whenever I like a game, I don’t want to see cheating.
It’s more of a “if you cannot learn the game normally, why play at all”. I was considered for a couple of top spots in Unreal Tournament and doom. Also in call of duty 4 back then. Now I play Fortnite for example.
Especially with twitch going on, they stream it while making money, somewhat making it even worse that they use 3 party programs.

Yes, I agree with you. I just think that since blizzard doesn’t care about this game, and hasn’t for years, and this game isn’t competitive PVP, sometimes you just gotta let it go.

It sucks but community has no say in anything with blizzard, especially this.

How much of that is profit though? The policy change that was going to basically turn them into another well known site you can’t even name here, then the very rapid reversal because it was obvious the bad press was going to cost even more, tell another story. Also the layoffs.

Amazon selling them off would make more sense than just outright closing it all down… But it is Amazon you never know.

I don’t really care if they’re on the leaderboard or not. I care that they are cheating and are getting away with streaming their cheats without being banned. I have no way to prove if anyone on the leaderboard is cheating or not. I don’t care if someone has 5k more paragons than me. I care if they got to where they are legitimately.

I have been on the leaderboards. I know I can get there if I want to.
Here’s the proof:
https://prnt.sc/x_9alo-ABVS8
This is with less than 2k paragons. I barely had time to play that season and I still made it.
Not to mention the PTR rank 1 clears I’ve done throughout the times.

Can’t say. don’t know much about it. I do know, that they take a cut of every subsciption bought from viewers.
Some streamers has over 80k subs. Which nets to a pretty decent sum. With all other streamers, it certainly isn’t “nothing”.
I read somewhere they earned 2.8 billion in 2022. If that is correct or not I cannot say for sure.

The past decade would tend to suggest that they’ll get right on it… Soon™

So if streamers are cheating. Then u know who to ignore on the leaderboard. So whats the issue again?

If u cant stand seeing them then dont watch twitch. There be a banwave eventually.

But it’s not about the leaderboards. It’s about that they stream themselves cheating. I would say I outlined my issue well here.

I don’t run into cheaters anymore. SSF FTW!

I enjoy playing with groups though, it’s lots more fun having some social interactions.

Yeah just ignore people streaming, they only make money from cheating. Just like running a red light, just simply ignore it !
