How do you add a socket with the Mystic
If you’re talking about journey, just create a rare (yellow) weapon at the blacksmith, and reroll one of the primary stats
- If you have Blood Shards to spend, go to Kadala and gamble for Weapons. Set aside one Rare
Level 70Weapon that does not have a Socket in it. Or, go to the Blacksmith and craft a RareLevel 70 (Sovereign)Weapon with no Socket. - Take the Weapon to the Mystic and Enchant one of the Properties to a Socket.
Despite Blizzard’s poor wording of this Season Journey Objective, it would have been more clear if they had stated:
Enchant a weapon property to a socket at the Mystic.
(Reforge is done with Kanai’s Cube and re-rolls all of an item’s Properties).
The weapon doesn’t need to be level 70.
I’d have to look to see what level a socket is possible from, but I’m sure it’s possible below 70
The cheapest yellow dagger you can get from the Smith works just fine.
I was going to post the answer but you beat me to it.
(Dagger lvl 16)
Many players have made the mistake of trying to roll a socket on a weapon that they would like to use, thereby wasting a lot of mats and gold.
The only requirement is to have a socket via the mystic.
After that it depends on how you want to progress on the journey, the season, your way of playing…
My apologies for the “Level 70” comment. I will edit my previous post.
I think it’s a lost cause since enchanting usually means adding extra powers to an existing item, namely using Ramaladni’s Gift.
Reforge was in WoW.
Intuitively: since it says reforge a property, it cannot mean the entire item.
But I’ve seen people misunderstand “sky is blue, grass is green”, so…
Does the basic word Replace have ambiguous meanings?
In any event, it ends with “at the Mystic” so it’s really just a teaching checkpoint and brain check.
If anyone struggles, they should use a search engine.
By the way, this objective is actually outdated since you should’t roll weapon properties to a socket ever since the addition of Ramaladni’s. It may happen randomly while trying to improve that one bad roll, but that’s it.
That was so not what I was talking about.
I was not referring to the actual meaning of those words… in real life or the gaming community.
I was speaking in terms of Diablo III… specifically.
In Diablo III
- Kanai’s Cube has a specific function that will “Reforge Legendary”. It’s called the Law of Kulle Recipe.
- Myriam the Mystic has a specific function that will “Enchant” an item. It’s performed through her Enchant tab.
We have had players in the past report, in the Bug Report Forum, that they could not complete the Chapter IV Season Journey Objective, Exquisiteness, when they got a Weapon Socket using the Cube’s “Reforge Legendary” Recipe. We had to remind them to do this “at the Mystic”.
In this case, @Dqland51 simply asked “How do you add a socket with the Mystic”. @Strix anwered and I reiterated. However, I probably should have left out the last part. Especially since it was obvious @Dqland51 was not using Kanai’s Cube.
