After completing the challenge rift on xbox, upon entering game with seasonal character the cache is not available to claim. Has happened twice in two weeks.
You should move this thread to the Console Bug Report Forum.
Moving Threads
- Click the pencil icon next to the title of your thread.
- Click the “Category” field to bring up a list of Forums.
- Find the proper Forum and select it.
- Save your edit.
This will move your thread to the selected Forum, including all replies.

Season 33 – same deal. No cache after completing.
Very, very frustrating, and renders game unplayable for the season.
I very carefully went about it so no mistakes on my part.
Challenge Rift reward is not available for me on Switch also. None of the fixes I’ve seen anywhere have worked. Here is what I have tried:
- Created season character first, then completed rift.
- Flipped between difficulties and campaign/adventure mode, restarting Switch in between each change.
- verified system time is syncing online, and all patches are up to date.
- Checked from a new second season character.
- changed Switch to use public DNS
- waited 24 hours
- verified completion times are showing up on ladder. I’m 3000 something on global leaderboard.
- verified no available rewards in the season rewards menu, or at the Altar of Rites. Reward pillar is empty by the cube, regardless.
I even beat the rift a second time after all that, improving my time by another 2 seconds. This CR sucks too and it took me forever to beat it. I had completely forgotten about doing CRs and haven’t done them in a few years, and to finally beat it but not get anything for it is stupid. If this isn’t a back end issue on Blizzard’s side I’ll eat my hat. Has anyone opened a ticket or is this game even supported anymore on console?

I am having the same problem on my Xbox X. I’ve tried everything you have listed and nothing. Are we just out of luck?

I have also had this same issue at the start of the season after I upgraded from xbox one to xbox series x. It only seems to affect the very first time I run the challenge rift each season.
I’ve tried hard resetting and “power cycling” the device to no avail.
Has anyone found a solution to this yet? I haven’t rehomed the old xbox one yet, so I might hook that up to just do the challenge rift and collect the cache
Mine seems to have righted itself this season.

You’re not the only one. I’ve had the same problem the last 2 or 3 seasons. Not being able to start the season with all that gold and all the materials is frustrating, but being unable to complete the Altar is infuriating.
