"celebrate" 30 years of BLIZZARD

With a 94 second video?

R E A L L Y ? ? ?

No… in game goodies?

  • even if… temporary.

No… in game event(s)?

  • even if… temporary.

Don’t tell me I need to buy an e ticket to Blizconline just to “celebrate” 30 years of Blizzard games.

Edit to post title:

I meant to type ‘Blizzard Games’ but I typed ‘Diablo’ instead because I am on a Diablo forum and I was thinking about the Diablo games and not the others. I stopped playing WoW last February and won’t return and have no intention of playing any other Blizzard titles. So I changed it from ‘Diablo’ to ‘BLIZZARD.’

Hmm… More to come maybe? They probably don’t want to spill all of the beans before the main event. That video is just a teaser.

Diablo 1 came out Dec 31 1996, so you are a little early to the party for the 30th anniversary of Diablo. Check back in 5 more years.

I believe they are counting the time they were formerly Silicon & Synapse, Inc. (1991-1993) and Chaos Studios, Inc. (1993-1994) before becoming Blizzard.

30 years? You want to check on your math there, buddy?

You get to watch the event live for free. You don’t need in game goodies. God forbid they try to recoup some costs.

Oh and it’s only 24 years of Diablo. Technically it was released on Dec. 31 1996, but still that was about 12 hours it may have been available for purchase in select locations, most didn’t have it until after the new year.

I’ve never felt at home in my 18 years on Blizzard forums nor in their games. Watching that trailer left me completely emotionless and eye rolling. If anything, Blizzard the company has left me feeling isolated and unwelcome. Which is fine, I embraced that long ago.

What really gets my juices running though, is listening to the Diablo II and SC BW soundtracks!

Similar to covid-19 and 2020, Diablo 3 really made the last 8 years of Diablo feel like 16 :stuck_out_tongue:

You’ll be able to watch the entirety of the show completely free through the BlizzCon website, where you can choose between six channels of content covering your favorite games. You’ll also be able to watch the show on your favorite streaming platforms, including Twitch and YouTube.

To all who say to the OP check your math. When a company is originally formed is when the time is started. It doesn’t matter what their original name was. What does a lot of people really think that when they changed their name to Blizz is when the timer starts. No, it doesn’t it starts when the doors are first opened regardless of whether it is called Blizz or not.

Maybe the title of the thread should say “celebrate” 30 years of Blizzard games. Not 30 years of Diablo.

Buy the celebration pack at Blizz shop, in game goodies you get pet, portrait, wing, transmog set. That’s all.

Reread the title, then check the math. Diablo != Blizzard.

He says Diablo because this is a D3 forums not a forums for all Blizz games. Plus he is talking about no special rewards or game events for D3.

Then he says about 30 years of Blizz and that is what I was referring to when others were saying check your math. Read the whole OP and see what I am talking about, reading comprehension.

He mentions Diablo because he is complaining there is no special awards nor game events for D3 that will mark the celebration of 30 years of Blizzard games.

Read the title and see what I am talking about, reading comprehension.

hear, hear. 20 chars.
