Background. I actually got the gibbering gemstone this season while playing with a friend, it dropped for me, not him, in his game.
This season, the cave that spawns on the Battlefields is “inactive” it is grey and cannot be clicked, has no quest.
I have never received kill Chilltara, Caverns of frost OR Icefall, the cave has never been active in my game this season. I also tried campaign, it just doesn’t offer me the mission for Chilltara, clear the caverns, or ice fall. Like I said I have seen the cave over 100 times, but it is inaccessible and offers no missions/bounties. I have run Battle fields hundreds of times trying to help my friend get his gemstone.
He gets caverns of frost probably every 3rd reset. This is either a bug, or I am locked out because I already have the gemstone?? Possibly?
Please let me know because I am wasting time doing low level searching for something that may never happen. Thanks!
Post a screenshot of Caverns of Frost being “inactive” or otherwise “inaccessible”.
It’s not caverns of frost, it’s just an inaccessible cave with no mission or bounty.
I’ll take a shot tonight when I am on.

You are searching in the wrong place! It’s not The Battlefields - you should be looking for Caverns of Frost on The Fields of Slaughter (take the waypoint to The Bridge of Korsikk and go north).
Not a bug.
Now I know we are being pranked. I guess I can understand some of the other ‘bugs’ being reported, frustrating as they may be. This one is just flat out making things up to report. An inactive, background cave in the scenery of the wrong zone? Really?

We have been running caverns of frost bounties out of battlefields for seasons.
I watched my friend do it sitting right next to me.

There are no Cavern of Frost in the Battlefields… they’re in the Fields of Slaughter.
