Can't change my phone number

I have no idea where to put this and I know it’s going to be moved but here goes anyway,
I tried changing my phone number that is attached to my account. The number that is listed in my account is no longer valid. So when I try to change it, a text message with a code is sent to my old number that I no longer have so I never get it.

Yeah I have the same issue. I used to carry a pre-paid phone and the phone number was not allowed with Blizzard so I had to use a different number yet that number has long been cancelled.

There’s an option there to contact Blizzard directly. If you don’t have the old phone available (to be able to receive an authentication code) there’s an option of submitting a picture of an official ID instead to prove you’re the account owner.

Meteor is correct. Please submit a ticket and attach your Govt issued ID showing you are the account holder. In accordance with Federal law and California law regulating Personal Identifying Information (PII), your ID is deleted after your ticket is finished.

If you have the phone or a cloned device with SMS you can work that way Contact Support - Blizzard Support

If not, click the link at the bottom to use an ID. Be sure to remove the ID from your phone or PC when done.

NOPE! Not gonna happen. I’m not giving out my DL information just for a friggin phone number!

Then quit whining.

Even if you aren’t a California resident, because Blizzard is a California business, it must adhere to this state’s personally identifiable information (PII) laws. These laws state that, among other things, a business must destroy all documents sent to them once the task that requires them has been completed. So once they assist you in getting a new phone number onto your account, the ID scan you send them is immediately destroyed. They aren’t allowed to use it for marketing, other data usage, or to sell to other companies. It is treated just as if you had given your information to a hospital as a patient.

So the choice is yours - give them the information necessary to resolve your situation or live with the consequences of not doing so.
