I’ve looked at the recipe, i have all the items right but it says failed immediately. Can someone please help?
A screenshot would be really helpful here 
What ancient item are you using, Zakum, what level and kind of normal gems (rubies, topaz, etc.), and what level legendary gem?
First guess…
Is the item you’re trying to augment not ancient?

Could also be that OP is trying to use diamonds to augment, or a legendary gem that isn’t a high enough level for the item they’re trying to augment 
I can also not seem to augment ancient items.
I have a primal ancient band of might 3 rubies for strength and a level 71 gem. The FILL button is greyed out. I am able to fill all other recipies with te fill button. I can’t even pre-fill the recipe for the augment ancient item. It is just greyed out…

The “Fill” button is not used for Caldessans so it is greyed out. What are you expecting for the game to autofill for you?
Do you want it to decide what gems, item or L. gem to use?
Just put the items in the cube and click Transmute.

Ok fair, I get your point. But when I put the item, gems and legendary gem in the cube the button is still greyed out. It also does this with all other ancient items I have that include legendary, primal legendary and set item legendary.

I know how to augment I have been playing this game when augmentation was first introduced. So I’m stumped.

The Fill button is supposed to be greyed out because it has no function for Caldessans. You don’t want the game to randomly pick items or gems for Augmenting.
“just put the items in the cube and click transmute” Jup. Works! This is imho a usability issue. I dont know why I was struggling whit this all of a sudden. I have been augmenting for years… OMG SMH…
