Can fresh D3 seasons hold us over until PoE2 release?

I am kinda above slightly average excited to play next d3 season (Corpse Lance back???), but i also just watched the PoE2 gameplay video and it completely obliterated me and i couldn’t be more depressed. Why can’t blizzard design d4 even 1/10th as good as this? Watching the PoE2 gameplay is just shocking. There’s no other word. The game just looks flat out unbelievable. Why do we settle for the trash blizzard produces and slaps a D4 label on? It’s just unfathomable how different the design directions of these two games have gone. I dont get it. I just dont get it. These games couldn’t be any further apart on a scale of 1 to 100. How did blizzard mess up so badly?

i dunno, this is so depressing seeing such an amazing arpg come out and it not being d4. I guess there’s no other choice but to hope for a few good d3 seasons to hold us over until PoE2.

I don’t settle for trash which is why I still don’t even own d4. Last time I threw money at Blizz was in 2014.

This is why I tell people like you to wait until they release a game before buying it, instead of preordering multiple versions for a game they don’t want.

I know you are bitter about throwing so much money at a game you hate, but you need to get on with your life. Go on and play POE2, Mario Kart, Hello Kitty Adventure Island or whatever floats your boat, and leave Blizz in the dust.

As long as people like you keep throwing your money at Blizz, things won’t get better. It doesn’t matter how much you make a “D4 whine” thread, they don’t care. They know you will be back when the xpac comes out and you drop money for xpacs for all your accounts. Try giving them a reason to change.

Remember, it is OK to actually quit. Quit means quitting, not stop then come back. I know quitting quitting is the only thing you can’t quit, but give it a try. The bitter threads you keep throwing up are getting pretty pathetic.

Well I’m looking forward to the launch of Last Epoch in February. and I enjoy the seasons in Inquisitor Martyr and Torchlight Infinite.

Plus Grim Dawn’s expansion comes out next year for the people that love that game.

Oh and why stick to just one game genre anyway?

Almost year until POE2 release. Summer 2024 only stars the beta (or alpha even, don’t remember).

that’s not too long i guess. every second of gameplay they’ve shown has made me insanely angry and disappointed in D4. PoE2 is just doing everything right. Did you see the WASD movement optional addition? They are knocking this out of the park.

If you are still buying a hyped up modern game at release, then you have learned zero lessons from the past 5-10 years of modern gaming and the “dollar signs are king above all” corporate attitude.

As someone who has played POE regularly since June after switching over from D3 (which is now dead), I have garnered a clear view of what GGG (company of POE) is, which is a collective of extreme hubris and “we are right the customer is wrong” that would make even blizz devs blush.

Be careful what you wish for and do not play POE2 anywhere near release, unless you are itching for a mountain of disappointment.

POE1 is so incredibly anti-melee that it comes up now as meme joke questions in dev interviews and is summarily ignored with laugher (no I’m not joking here). POE2 is following suit with “oh jeez I hope you don’t have to stand near this big bad monster for an extended period of time”. Once again extreme hubris with zero introspection from GGG about the mountain of issues present in current state POE1.

That is about the only ARPG i have hope for to be a middle ground between diablo (what diablo is now) and POE. However, again, do not buy anything near release unless you want to be disappointed. Eleventh hour gaming (company making Last Epoch) are a small time team for now with no big publisher name to save their possible incompetence, so for now they have to be serious about making a solid replayable STABLE (performance) game, instead of just thinking “dollar signs are king”. That is what GGG used to be, but no longer.
