I want to sell Diablo 3 but my game account/key seems to be linked to Battle.net and can’t be unregistered it. Does this mean I can’t sell the game?
You cannot sell the game to anyone else. As you discovered, it’s tied to your account. Selling your account is also not allowed. I’m afraid you’re stuck with it. But if I may ask, why do you wish to get rid of D3?
That’s covered by the End User License Agreement…
License Limitations . Blizzard may suspend or terminate your license to use the Platform, or parts, components and/or single features thereof, if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following:
Transfers : Attempt to sell, sublicense, rent, lease, grant a security interest in or otherwise transfer any copy of the Platform or component thereof, or your rights to the Platform to any other party in any way not expressly authorized herein.
I wish I could sell my account once Im done with Diablo 4. If I happen to find some super rare cool item, and players wanna buy it off from me, why not.
I bet players would play a bit longer if this was possible. You find first cool item, maybe you want to play a bit more if you find second. Not to mention players seems always be complaining about drop-rates, buy items instead. It should help with old players leaving and new players coming better too, yeah it should keep the flow going.
a simple google search would answer your question.
Dozens of accounts for sale, thousands of paragon.
Its against the rules and im sure will be vigorously enforced like Maphack and botting.
caveat emptor
You don’t own the account or the item. That would be one big reason you can’t sell it.
Rules of course as well.
They do, but some of it is hard to stop. Pretty much everyone knows though that you can’t change your account name without legal documentation so if you buy an account and ever get locked out - you are out of luck. You can’t submit matching ID so you can’t get CS to help you. Further, the person who has their name on it can take it back at any time just by contacting Blizzard with ID. Buying Blizzard accounts is really really unwise. It is a good way to get scammed.
So you give the account to Blizzard and they sell your stuff?
I think its pretty damn awesome idea, when you quit, your stuff/account/power is given to other players.
No. Blizzard does not sell accounts either.
Well damn. If Blizzard doesnt wanna start selling account. Maybe CDPR should. I bet they get instantly lots of fans, who like to get paid when they quit the game. You guys can keep grinding here for nothing, if thats what you prefer.
I grind for fun.
Thats how it goes like first 5-10 year in game industry, but then things change. Thats my whole point, why they should increase motivation, playerbase gets older and older as the time goes on. I personally think CDPR could do this, they are still relatively new company especially in online space.
From my understanding Wow’s average age is 30+. for example. Im having hard time to imagine, they enjoy grind some pets and weapons skins and such.
The reasons vary, but the most common two are being completionist, and catharsis. And many of us are invested into that game to the point we want to continue it until it’s finally sunsetted.
We? Community is exactly the reason why I think WoW is massive success but Diablo doesnt have that. Diablo is more like everybody for themselves.
