Caldesann's Despair Question

Quick question. Before I start leveling these gems, can anyone please confirm that if I use an Emerald on my weapons, using Caldesann’s Despair, I will be buffing my Crit Damage, and not adding DEX?

Advice = Appreciation

No sir, that’s not how it works.
If you use Emeralds for Caldesann’s you get dexterity, no matter what item you apply the enchant on.
Emeralds add crit damage only when socketed into weapons sockets.

As a dps Barb, use Rubies for your Caldesann’s.

The colour of the non-legendary gem determines the stat that gets added…

Ruby = Strength
Emerald = Dexterity
Topaz = Intelligence
Amethyst = Vitality

The rank of the legendary gem used determines the amount of stat added…

( Rank of Legendary Gem * 5 ) = Amount of stat added

So, if you used a rank 75 legendary gem and rubies, you’d get 375 STR.

Man, wouldn’t it be great if you could augment crit damage directly onto your weapon though? :yum:

That would give some crazy advantage to dual-wielders…

Yeah I would never actually advocate for that. You could also get wild cdr by augmenting diamond in helm.

and all those “players” with tabs full of 150 leg gems…
