This bug should be brought back. It has been a huge part of D2 history and lore and is an important aspect of the game.
Damn this is sad, rip 1800def exile
But seriously it should stay in game. If they really donât wanted it to be in d2 it would have been fixed long ago^^
Not nice part of history to be present in game for so many years just like other bugs
Just like other bugs, it should be fixed. And it was.
If +50% ED is so important for you guys, lets change cube recipe and add +0-50% ED mod on it to make it interesting.
If it was there for 20 years, itâs not a bug. They are changing the game. Iâm going for refund. I prefer the old play.
SureâŚ
You know you will not. They are not changing game, they are fixing bugs and glitches.
To me it was part of the game for 20 years. If it was a bug they would have fixed it, like many other exploits. I canât even begin to list what they fixed.
Exploits. The tristam bug, the eye bug etc. This was not an exploit.
Leave it authentic, this was there for 20 years.
they did fix itâŚ
Blizzard created game and had that bug in it, blizzard fixed it.
Why are people so much complaining about damn +50% ED?
An exploit that existed for 20 years does not stop being an exploit because it existed for 20 years.
I donât mind bugs being fixed, but if they fixed something that was truly highly praised, like Andariel bug, then they should just make that permanent. I kind of wish Blizzard would speak out about their plans because itâs hard to tell if they even know about a lot of the bugs.
a bug is something not intended by the devs.
this wasnât intended by the devs , nor is the andariel glitch.
so yea , it was indeed a bug which made the hell difficulty even easier than it should have been at high end gear.
that being said we are in a forum , if a lot of you guys want it back , you can advocate for it and ask the devs to make it come back but as a feature , not an unintended glitch.
but please do so without the childish refund threat , it has become a meme at this point xD
They have had every chance to fix it over those 20 years. Itâs not like this bug was secret and they found out now. They decided not too. They fixed a bunch of other bugs/exploits that were actually harming, but kept this. Like others have pointed out, this has always been a part of Diablo 2. It was an extra step of itemization and depth to the game. It gave you something more to do, it gave you enjoyment. Removing it was a mistake, and i believe they will reconsider.
They also fixed WSG, but reintroduced it again after one month.
Blizzard has even said that they will aim to keep all the good bugs that we have come to love, they specifically said andy bug. But this is also one of them. I believe MrLlama is going to take this issue to blizz directly, so fingers crossed.
You guys are so fixated on the word âbugâ. I agree with bug fixing in general, but taking away a 20year old feature is not bug fixing in my eyes.
Sorry but I do not care either way. I never used that exploit.
I would not have been annoyed if they chose to leave it in game, just as I am not annoyed that they chose to fix it.
not the same team/people , not the same ability to fix things (nowaday itâs easier than before even for glitches that were complex to fix at the time)
but i think you shouldnât worry too much , if indeed many loved this glitch , they might make it back into an official feature this time.
itâs still a dev company that want and need to please itâs customers in order to make money.
but for the time being they saw it as one glitch among many and simply fixed it. (and probably fixed others glitch we havenât realized yet)
personally wether they make it come back or not , i donât care that much , it would simply make the game a little harder (while removing something end game to farm though , so itâs 50/50 for me : half of me want it not there , half want it there , iâll simply trust the devs like everything else on that and simply enjoy game at release)
whatâs the point of collecting the recipe to glitch, just take it to larzuk. It is an important part of the last 20 years.
True, this team isnât as experienced with the development of this game and the community.
They have fixed faar more complex issues in the past, and if they can do it now, they also could back then as it runs on the same code.
well we can only speculate on that , i mean i did work in a few tiny games for fun , sometime fix that seemed easy to do from a player perspective were harder than those that seemed hard to do at first
simply because at the time the max value i could imput was 65535, the programs i was using at the time didnât allow me to go further andâŚok iâam going off topic here xD
anyway to go back on topic , if they âfixed itâ they can âunfix itâ or make it into a feature.
now itâs in you guys hands to make it into a reality , be it the youtuber you were speaking of and the players that want it back by doing enough feedback / posts about it.
This is a value neutral change.
On the one side this was an exploit: the result was unintended and it made the game easier in an unintentional way.
On the other: players had grown so accustomed to it, it might as well had been a canonical recipe.
Thatâs why we are here, we are expressing our concern and trying to make ourselves heard!
If you dont understand why, then you dont understand diablo 2.
