Why don’t you… I don’t know… use the conversion feature in Kunai’s Cube to make the Diamonds into another gem type? It’s not like you’ll be hurting for the necessary gold.
Why don’t you, I don’t know, read the thread to know that this has been suggested 50 times already?
Its not about using more steps easy or not, it was about simplicity and common sense. Apparently some think it would be more confusing… Go figure.
Like I said, no point in trying to get people to understand, I may as well be talking to brick walls.
We should have five different types of Broken Clown… sorry Crown! One for each color of gem… and maybe a rainbow one giving random types.
Oh, I understand. You want more convenience, and now that the followers can use the Crown it probably does make more sense to change it work differently.
However… I was specifically responding to the OP’s proclamation that the Broken Crown is “useless.” This is demonstrably not the case since the gem conversion exists and there’s no real barrier to using that.
So… how ironic is it that while righteously telling me to read something, you didn’t read and/or misinterpreted what I was responding to?
And of course, now that it’s early in the season and I haven’t found an immunity token for my follower on any of the three regions, a dead follower does not emanate nor provide an extra cheat death if they have that skill selected, so it’s not quite like the cube but close enough.
If you’re desperate for an immortality token you can craft and upgrade in cube.
Look, I feel like it should be more convenient, but the fact of the matter is it is working as intended. Want to know why? My enchantress isn’t the one activating pylons/shrines for nems to activate. They aren’t getting double time on the pylons. They aren’t getting double DB or grift stones. I am. It all affects me, not the follower. Literally everything that emanates goes directly to me, not my follower. So it is essentially a cube for single player.
It would be, because of the 15 or so emanating powers, only this one would affect the follower rather than the hero. Then you’d get posts in Bug Report asking why the colour of gems dropping didn’t match the one the hero’s wearing and we’d have to add it to the “Things That Are NOT Bugs” sticky, which people wouldn’t read, and post about it anyway.
What happens if someone visits the Mystic, and re-rolls the socket into 130 All Resist or 15% Life because they’re using the “Access All Skills” or “50% Cooldown to Skills” token rather than the “Cannot die” one? When their follower’s helm literally doesn’t contain a gem, what should it cause more drops of, if it was based on the follower’s gem rather than the hero’s?
Could make it a double socketed helm , make the second socket a special color or different shape etc.
Top slot is what you need to put in for your build, bottom slot is what you want more of. So all you have to do is put the type of gem you ‘need’ in the 2nd slot and then continue on as normal. All they’re really doing is making a new crown, don’t have to do new artwork except for the paper doll part etc, very low impact change request.
I’m happy with this emanate effect.
It is cheap and easy to convert 9 diamonds to whatever type you need. Get the diamonds, make 9 max level, convert to the type you need.
6 for your your (armor and weapon) slots and three left for augmenting.
This emanate / making followers more usefull is a nice start to boost solo play. Hope we see more solo play boosting to reduce the gap with group play (without affecting group play).
The enchantress has broken crown with a ruby - more rubies drop. How is that confusing?
He has already explained why. Emanate works like extra cube slots… If, for example, you play demon hunter you usually want emerald but you usually run with diamond in helmet, so if you have Broken Crown in cube, or use a RoRG to wear the Crown, you get extra diamonds that’ll need conversion.
Works the way it’s supposed to work. Just convert the gems which you already know. Easy solution already implemented, thread on subject not needed.

The enchantress has broken crown with a ruby
The enchantress has a Broken Crown with no socket (and hence no gem in it) so what should drop?
