I finally said good bye to the sweet ethereals on my NA Monk and EU DH earlier today. Got 3 GR keys and nearly 30 Forgotten Souls for the DH weapon and a pile of useless Death’s Breath on the Monk. Oh well… they were fun while they lasted. I haven’t been able to login on the Asian server in days… it keeps timing out try to load my heroes.
I’m curious to find out whether socketed gems get deleted too or if they get dumped back to inventory.
Not that it really matters for non-seasonal where I have too many to stack.
Already confirmed in the PTR test of the end of S24. When your ethereals get deleted at the end of the season, anything socketed into them is also deleted. This isn’t too big a deal if all that was in them was an emerald, but I can foresee some people being annoyed if they had high level Gem of Ease in them.
Short version: salvage them before season end.
