This feels pretty bad honestly. As you push for the number of shards you need for a sacrifice, you either teleport back and use the ones you have to be under the cap or you leave them laying on the ground. Is there a reason to continue with the blood shard bag caps at this point in the game’s life?
For a sacrifice to unlock a seal, the max is 1600, which is equivalent to a GR110, it’s an easy goal with the Altar’ bonus.
Once this cap unlocked, do 4 GR91 (-> 400 BS) and you can unlock the seal.
Or 2 GR 100’s whichever is quicker for you.

Finally something to use shards for besides getting junk from Kadala. For the first time there’s something USEFUL to buy with them. I’ve got no complaints. Give me more uses for gold and shards and I’ll be happy.

Getting bloodshard from the Holiday Gifts in the PTR, which won’t be present next season, though they’re still dropping in PTR for some reason, threw me off. Also, the increased bloodshards from the PTR are there too.
