Saw an article regarding Apple’s new Game Porting Tool… Wondering if any info if Blizzard may be or is using it to port D2 or D4 to Mac?
" The company has released a new Game Porting Tool, which will help developers run their games on the Mac with little or no effort. …
But Apple is doing more than just making these games run on macOS. As explained by the company, Game Porting Tool is also able to translate DirectX 12 into Metal 3. For those unfamiliar, DirectX is an API available on Windows and Xbox consoles that handles graphics rendering and game sounds, similar to [Apple’s Metal API] "

Thanks.
Has no effect on blizzard at all. In fact both games could have been ported to mac in about a day (literally). They have an in house portable engine that already supports macOS that could have been used for overwatch 2, and diablo 4. diablo 2 would have taken a little more effort but still not too hard. The GTPk wouldn’t have enhanced porting it in any way. Now the metal shader conversion tool absolutely cuts a few hours out but ultimately blizzard has no issue porting the games, they just don’t want to. They no longer see mac users as valuable customers.

I am wondering if Blizzards’ attitude toward Mac user/players is because Apple came out with a gaming system/platform? I don’t even use it. it’s sad. Apple isn’t competition for blizzard.
No, it’s more a combination of macOS gamers being a tiny sliver of a tiny sliver of the gaming pie coupled with Apple’s constant OS abandonment, driver dereliction, and overall hostile attitude toward developers over the last decade. When you combine all of that, you get management that won’t allocate resources to that platform anymore and we end up in the state we’re in now.
