Blizzard: Is Necro required for Feat of Strength for S24?

If so it seems odd to force people to buy the DLC in order to get the ultimate reward for the season.

Running a Necro will make it easier, but it is not necessary.

Since you need 21 pieces of gear for the Feat of strength, you need to play all 7 classes.

Yep.

The Ethereal achievement requires all 21 ethereals in S24, 3 per class.

Unless you will get the other classes’ ethereals thru (not-so) smart drops, which will take a while than using the appropriate classes.

Not with a 15% chance to get other class gear it’s not. Unless they say otherwise.

Not exactly required. Smart Loot is 85%/15% for your class. So you can get drops not meant for you. This happens more often at lower levels.

The Ethereals are able to drop below level 70 and I have not seen any limits on difficulty level either. So you might even get some leveling up.

So technically you CAN get them, but it would take a long time.

Maybe, but we are talking about a droprate chance between ancient and primal ancient. And considering how many times I don’t get another class’s ancient item (esp Necro), I don’t think a person would be able to reliably get the other classes ethereal weapons, unless they lucked out. So playing all 7 classes would likely be the best option if someone wants those transmogs.

Of course it will. There is nothing wrong with the achievement. Those that do not wish to pay to get the necro pack have to farm more.

I’m just saying that the chance to get other classes items may not even be a viable option in this case.

Then pony up the 10 bucks. I’m going to say less than 10% of all accounts with all 7 classes who play the season will get the achievement. It’s not going to be viable for many with the necro anyways.

No need, I already got the necro on console, which is where I’ll be playing the next season. My main point is that players who don’t have the necro won’t be able to rely on that low chance of getting the other classes ethereal. That’s all.

That was towards those that don’t have it. Since our conversation was about them. But yea, they won’t be able to rely on it so tough luck. Not everything is for everybody.

Can’t argue that, because I seriously doubt Blizzard will change their minds on that (they rarely do when it comes to seasonal stuff).

And I say that as someone with the Necro and will probably give up half way through trying to get all 21 because I’m not that big a fan of playing the necro, DH, or wizard. But I’m not going to come here crying like many have about it being unfair or too much to get those transmogs permanently.

You win some you lose some. No big deal. It’s just a game after all and there are far more serious things to get as upset over in real life as many do over video game decisions.

If it was just an achievement I would agree. but the big payoff is cosmetics that carry over ONLY if you collect them all. I’d say it would be better to require 18 of the 21 but whatever. I’m sure they want to sell more necro packs. But the class design is disappointing so I’ve opted to skip it.

D3 is approaching the final year or two of viability so it’s not the end of the world.

It’s OK if you miss out on some things.

Personally I feel if you get the class set of 3 then you should get those mogs. But it is what it is.

Thankfully the person I play with has the Necromancer DLC, hopefully he shares and it works.

Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded.
