W3:Reforged came and we clearly can see - Blizzard is shadow of themself. They only reskined it…and nothing else.
After that I don’t expect much from Diablo IV:(
Activi$ion killed Blizzard. It’s sad but true.
To be honest, I didn’t bought anything from Blizzard for around 5 years atm. Maybe less. I`m not buying any skins, commanders to sc2, cards packs in hs. Prolly blizzard is not interested in customers like me. Who wants to buy game, play it, eventually wants to buy another expansion, extra missions etc. But hey Blizzard. People like me exists and we have got cash. It’s not worth to do games for us?
Going to meritum(general discussion on diablo forum):
I wont buy Diablo IV on premiere. I`m going to wait for reviews and gameplay.
And I hope so Diablo III will be rebalanced, I tried it like 5 seasons ago…and get bored after 3 days. I don’t even look on loot in this game. It’s no fun with milions dmg on screen, hundred of items looted from monsters, shining things around the screen. It’s better to loot 1-3 items, but worth to look on them.
I`m not heating. I just want to share my feelings and opinion.
To be honest with you, if you haven’t bought anything from Blizzard in 5 years and not planning to buy anything else in the future, I don’t think they could care less how you feel. Just my opinion. Good troll though.
Well mate. If they bring something worth to buy I`ll buy it for sure. But after so many dissapointments I will think twice before I will pay for anything.
I planed to buy W3:Reforged for example, but when I saw gameplay and no new content I decided to do not do it. And i`m going to do the same with diablo IV.
I intend to wait at least 1-2 years after release to see how they handle balancing, patching issues, build diversity etc etc. after that we’ll see if I get it or not.
Blizzard has been steadily declining since World of Warcraft: Cataclysm had been released. On WoW’s side they have been making the game easier to solo, taking away additional content, and making it more of a grind.
Starcraft…Well, you’ll have to dig under the cobwebs a bit but it’s still there.
Heroes of the Storm nose dived really fast. It was falling before they pulled the plug on the Esports.
Overwatch, well, it was alright for me, but the “sequel” looks more like a glorified expansion pack as well as a reset on items. Kinda reminds me of CoD in that regard.
The Diablo franchise has been spoken of enough as is and Hearthstone I have absolutely no knowledge of other than it being a card game.
Did you expect new content in a graphics update? War3:Reforged was basically a means to make the original engine work with modern gaming computers and graphics cards, then give a huge art update, so you could take advantage of it. They put a lot of work into it. You don’t have to like RTS games. You don’t have to buy it. But you should have at least set your expectations based on what they promised. They never promised you new content for War3, only an improved engine and vastly improved graphics so you could go back and replay it if you wanted.
They did the same with SC1:Remastered. And if they ever decided to go back and redo Diablo 1 and 2, they’d end up the same: upgraded engine, better graphics, same great game.
As for “not buying anything for 5 years,” part of that is Blizzard’s fault. They have killed some of their biggest projects: SC:Nova and Project Titan. They poured tremendous amounts of man-hours into those projects and they didn’t work out. Diablo:Immortal got about as frosty a reception as you could imagine. And Blizz’s exec team got a slap in the face. They couldn’t just port games to mobile and think that was going to work. They had to actually develop quality IP again, and that’s why the best talent from every team in the company got yanked and shoved onto Diablo 4. They’re betting the farm hoping that will meet expectations, but they’re so behind on development time, we the fans are going to have to wait. And yes, it’s completely fair to criticize them for this. They’re not producing product that people want right now - they don’t deserve money.
I wouldn’t say that much. There are a lot of complaints about Reforged with the most common being that multiplayer is not working at all. There is also a lot of issues with the prologue immediately smacking players (not all of them it seems) with instant defeat, graphical issues where certain models and terrain are not updated, and the cinematics shown at Blizzcon 2018 are completely absent in the released game.
Which considering Reforged is indeed supposed to be a graphics overall from what I understand, makes me wonder how they messed up so much. I did spot a post in a video claiming they outsourced Reforged to some other company.
A big part of the problem is that they’ve actively removed from features from the game. These are removed even if you didn’t buy WC3 Reforged, as they did the same thing Starcraft’s remastered edition did and merged it all into one client.
My expectations were zero and they managed to fall short of that.
Overwatch 2 might as well be an expansion pack, but they’ve said it wont be an item reset.
It basically just gets you updated graphics and co-op missions, but it’ll otherwise be compatible with Overwatch 1 and you keep your progress.
Then again if they merge it all into 1 client like they have with WC3 and Starcraft, who knows what will end up being the result.
I stand corrected on that, then. I haven’t purchased the game. I don’t have time to play it right now. From what I’ve seen of the gameplay footage, it looked like the art team was hard at work. However, if they’ve released it in a state where the multiplayer (the only reason to play long-term) is dead on arrival, they clearly didn’t do even the most basic of play testing and stress testing and that deserves to be criticized. That’s completely unacceptable from a AAA studio.
Don’t just take my word on it; look it up on youtube. I only watched one video (made by HeelvsBabyface) that showed the twitter video concerning Reforged getting hammered with complaints, a video comparing 2018 cinematics with the released version, graphical errors, a streamer getting smacked with the defeat glitch, and other issues.
I’ll have to go back and double check later but I am pretty sure that basic Overwatch is getting everything but the PvE content. As far as graphics…Reinhardt is now rocking a serious beard. That’s about it. I couldn’t tell the difference in terms of graphics when I watched what was revealed with Overwatch’s graphics. Which is not a bad thing as Overwatch is very good on the eyes, but there is little to no difference between it and its sequel.
It kinda reminds me of the whole fiasco with the Left 4 Dead franchise.
ummm I don’t really support Blizzard but $30 for a HD Remake of Warcraft 3 is a killer deal especially for a day one release. Other companies produce complete trash and charge $100 USD
Not true. Pandaria and Legion were awesome expansions, ones of the best.
Heartstone is also very good.
Diablo 3 is a great game as well.
They do make mistakes, but they’re still one of the strongest companies out there.
You think that blizzard are on a decline - but in fact it’s the gaming world that is on the uprise instead. Too many good studios making good games.
In the past, blizz were almost unchallenged, and now they are. But that doesn’t mean their quality is dropping - it is steadily rising.
It is still a lot better remaster compared to other companies. All models are brand new and look great. Compare this to Ubisoft’s lazy Assassin’s Creed 3 remaster where they just changed lightning and stop complaining.
