I am using the Big Stinker rune but I have a question about it. It is a Poison rune.
The skill says “Summon a Gargantuan zombie to fight for you. The Gargantuan attacks for 450% of your weapon damage as Physical. The Gargantuan is surrounded by a poison cloud that deals 135% weapon damage as Poison per second to nearby enemies.”
So my question is, does the gargantuan do physical damage with its attack even though it is a poison rune?
So when the skill icon says the Gargs deal Physical damage, it’s just trying to trick me?
Someone on reddit says “The pet does an attack on monsters. That attack is physical. The rune adds an aoe effect that hurts nearby monsters. That damage is poison.”
The description for the skill is for the unruned skill. The runes apply a specific element.
Big Stinker will do 450% damage as Poison when it hits plus the additional Poison aura.
I’m not sure how one would go about testing it since the Garg damage is difficult to see.
It is possible that the Redditor is correct, but I don’t see how much difference it would really make in combat.
I prefer Humongoid or Restless Giant runes myself.
I think you may be stuck with it. I don’t see any replacement skill that would be as strong as Garg w/ Short Man.
Especially once you raise Enforcer gem.
You may just have to accept that Gargs and Dogs do Physical damage in addition to Poison, if that is indeed the case.
That’s what the skill description says. Just like Stinker.
You might also consider swapping Trapped for Toxin since you are not doing much CC.
The problem with All-Poison builds is that it is all DOT and not much direct damage. The Physical gives a little of that.
It isn’t a “poison” build, it’s a poison element zombie bear zombie dog gargantuan pet build. I need trapped for damage.
Okay it appears the dogs and garg do poison damage with the poison rune selected even if the tooltip says physical damage, I was given a source from maxroll that says this.
