Last season I got Boon of the hoarder as my last Gem, which I think is how its supposed to work. I have not been getting it on any drops despite having all the other gems. Ive been gambling for rings to upgrade for a puzzle ring so I can kill greed, but thats been slow too. Whats the best way to get that gem?
Greed is where it’s at. You can try gambling if you can get the mats. In some public games, it’s not uncommon for someone else to pop a vault open.
Running either the vault or the cow level will flag the Boon to drop.

If you are that early in the season where you haven’t had a puzzle or gotten all your gems, gambling shards on rings is a bad idea. It is 50 shards a spin for rings, where you could be spending 25 shards getting gear that will boost your damage. Try upgrading rare rings to get what you need for you build and you have a decent chance of getting a puzzle.
Early in your season, gold shouldn’t be a priority, get more DPS. More DPS will get you things like puzzles, etc. a lot faster. Run T16 Visions and you will have more puzzles than you need.

Yup, that’s the important thing.
Don’t worry about the things like the gem or Goldskin or Avarice now, get the items to get you to farm higher levels. That means faster progression as well and then you get those things faster. As in spend less time/resources looking for them.
