Barbarian Weapon Throw needs some love

Basically ^^^^^^^^^^^^ THAT!

Weapon Throw is fun and there isn’t anything besides LoD or LoN builds. Raekor’s buffs Ancient Spear, not Weapon Throw. Can’t use Immortal Kings because you need a rage spender to keep Wrath of the Berserker up 100% and you need WotB to take advantage of the 4k% damage, which needs to be increased imho. The other sets are for WW/Rend and Leap w/Earthquake and Avalanche.

The two spears (equipped), mighty weapon (cubed), and pants (cubed) are a good start. I like the ricochet rune the best, so the fire gloves and chest are a must for me. Fire damage on the bracers, ammy, ring, and pants is needed as well. Of course, at some point that fire damage will suffer diminishing returns. I would use the craftable shoulders, the witching hour belt, and band of might.

I slapped one together and it could T16 just fine and clear a GR 75 w/out any problems. I didn’t push, but I can see being able to do a GR 90 with a fully augmented build. I guess that’s good enough, especially if I can clap a 5 minute or less run, but it should be able to do more, a lot more.

I can’t see the Barbarian getting a new set just for Weapon Throw, but maybe rework a mighty belt to add all runes or maybe just add Mighty Throw (400% damage) and Ricochet (3 mobs). Of course, Ricochet should be upped to 6 mobs or at least a chance to effect up to 6 mobs. That would be nice. Also, could add a Weapon Throw buff to the Raekor’s set, that should be easy enough.

I know I am just rambling at this point, but Season 27 hasn’t started yet, and I am running out of steam for Season 26. Anyone else like Weapon Throw and would like to see it get a little dev love from Blizzard?

To be fair, Barb got the most love of all the classes for the coming season. They made out like bandits on season powers compared to every other class.

I am not against them getting this, but I think overall they are getting more than all the rest of us at this point.

Yeah, I will play all three. Barb will be the only class for me to do that too. The WW-pull is a no brainer and really fun, even if it doesn’t add any extra damage to WW/Rend build. The 4-way HoTA slam is really great and would be perfect if it ended there, but that 10th (was 7th) gg full screen HoTA smash is just icing on the cake. I didn’t test out the Berserker one, but I will use that on my Frenzy Barb. So, Season 27 will be Barb heavy for me and that’s okay since it’s my favorite class.

Next will be Clusteray for Mara DH. Any other class/build, I will use the crucible for an easy primal and maybe I will focus on a specific sanctified power, but I don’t know. I think 4 builds is enough to last me the first half of the season, especially since DH will be my first alt. I’ll probably play monk again, I like the PoJ set, too bad the sanctified powers for the monk were just meh at best. But a free primal is a free primal.

Weapon Throw is fun and I had hoped it would be useful with the revamp Raekor but it is not really.

Needs bouncing between enemies, by default.

i kinda disagree. i think the implication here is that the skill is only there for emergencies. the barbarian is plainly unsitable for ranged combat, and the skillset reflects that. the barbarian is supposed to be crappy at ranged combat.

Meanwhile, Ancient Spear…

which is even worse. seismic slam is way better than a crappy spear.

Spears and boulders are deadly… When thrown from a mighty warrior, they become the perfect tool to defeat enemies.

I actually like seismic slam. It’s a fun skill to use. Too bad it gets overshadowed by hammer of the ancients. For fun, maybe I’ll make one in S27. Instead of going LoD or IK, I’ll actually use the MoTE set.

most of the spear runes are single target, and i cant remember if boulder is also single target.

If you have the six-piece bonus of Raekor, the spear splits upon first impact, which means multiple boulders…

(6) Set:
Hitting enemies with Furious Charge or Weapon Throw increases the damage of your next Ancient Spear by 5500% and causes it to release multiple spears from its target. This effect stacks and each spear throw consumes a maximum of 5 stacks.
