Is it just RNG or has the frequency of Bandit Shrine appearance increased?
I have encountered more Bandit Shrines this Season than I have in the last 5 years combined of playing two accounts on all three Regions.
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

I have yet to see a goblin shrine in bounties or a goblin pack in rifts. By this amount of play time each season, I usually have seen a few of both.

My only bandit shrine this season was in an echoing nightmare that went too high.
I have never seen one.
Seen one bandit shrine out in the world this season. Now granted I spend as little time as I can get away with out in the world.

I’ve seen 2 and way more goblins than any season. My first rift had a goblin swarm.
Yeah it’s RNG.
But it’s also RNG from what you’re doing. I’m running way, way, WAY more split t16 bounties this season in PUG then I’ve ever done. With the silly fast permasteed sader laying down carpet bombs it’s easy. And those bounty runs have produced multiple goblin shrines… I’ve found 3 and been invited to 6-7 more others found while running.
So it’s a combination of RNG and opportunity. And opportunity is knocking loudly in S27.
Let’s say the chance of finding a bandit shrine is 1 in N nephalem rifts. So, on average, if you do X nephalem rifts, you’ll get X/N bandit shrines. What you’re describing is the result of you having a larger value for X, not a different value for N.
Basically. The problem is some of the numbers are small enough that even small difference can seem like a change. Those 1% chances can seem like 5% with only a few extra hits. The RNG in this game is crazy streaky… like going all day without a primal drop then getting 3 in 20 minutes (that happened to me yesterday).
I saw one in a public bounty game opening weekend. I remember because everyone was just starting & got super excited.
Other than that, you can dial up a bandito shrine whenever you want inside echoing nightmares. I prefer them over vaults because shrines always have greenies.
Perhaps just you and it’s totally random. I think game has weird mechanics for rewarding the player with something if they perform “well” and still keep playing. This reward can be a good rolled, high quality item or a burst of loot and materials by goblins.
The chance to find a bandit shrine is 0 in N nephalem rift because they can only appear outside rifts (ie, when doing bounties).
But I agree with the idea.
with sanctified puzzle rings i think bandit shrines are pointless tbqh. you can basically run them all day with a group, someone always gets a dust and a puzzle ring per run.
bandit shrines always have green goblins, vaults rarely do. thats why i prefer them. PLUS, all the loot drops in one spot. You dont have to loot a long hallway and have a boos fight encounter.
I guess it was just me and my RNG.
Of course, now that I’ve mentioned it, I probably won’t see another for a long time.
