Mentioning it in passing is fine, but making topic after topic about d2 should not be allowed. D2 has its own forum and the d2 fanboys spamming these boards with obnoxious topics like “D3 SUCKS COMPARED TO D2” or “MAKE D4 LIKE D2” are getting extremely annoying. Please keep these forums on topic and ban d2 discussion because this is not the place for it and it’s getting far out of hand

This forum is the official D4 forum right now. So pretty much any talk about D2 in the context of D4 is relevant.
Yes, that includes “make D4 just like D2” no matter how much we might disagree with that statement.
And since it is also the D3 forum, comparisons between D3 and D2 are also fairly relevant.

The context isn’t simply about D2 though. Context is how they think D4 should be something like D2. And as there is no D4 forum, and I believe Blizz did say to post it in D3 forum, them talking about D2 in relation to D4 is fine. Their argument, logic kinda lacking is a different matter. And they more often than not compare to the other side, resort to name calling and stuff.

Even though I understand it can be annoying, banning seems way out of hand.
If we were to ban every topic about something that might have it’s own forum, this forum would quickly get pretty stagnant.

Agree that banning someone/thread is simply too much of a punishment. But if OP or others chose to do so, I believe flagging a thread/post is not abusing the system in a case where D2 is mentioned not in relation to D4 (tag as ‘inappropriate’). But I’m afraid it might resort to some players flagging any post/thread he disagrees with. : /
We may have to tolerate this until they open an official D4 forum. Fans are excited and don’t know where else to post.
Well that is already something that many users do, in other words flag abuse.
I guess the moderators could close all d2 threads if they really wanted to.
But that would not likely be in the favour of ActiBlizz.
This is rich coming from someone that used to create one garbage thread after another on the daily. How about you sit your turn and scroll through topics you find annoying yourself.

There isn’t any issue with people talking about Diablo 2 as long as it bears some relevance to either Diablo 3 or 4. That includes asking for Diablo 2 features to make a return in Diablo 3 or 4. If you disagree with them, then either state your opinion and move on or just ignore them.

Can we agree that this was superior to the D3 music?
Since this is a forum about D3, it is still okay to talk about D2 or any other Diablo game, even if it is not the right number of game in the series. As long as it doesn’t overtake what is going on here for D3.
Right now we are seeing some that are concerned about the possibility of a D2 remaster. Since the fiasco that was Warcraft 3 Reforged, they are concerned that Blizz will screw up the D2 remaster. I think that concerned players would rather Blizz let someone else do the remaster like GoG did for D1.

ya im happy to talk about d2 wherever it pops up but unless it is something referring to d4 in some way this is not the place. I assume op is referring to the d2 remaster threads and I agree this isn’t really the place for them. since they are already made and ppl are in there I will use them but still.
While the Remaster threads might technically not belong to the D3 forum, news/rumors like that is arguably broad enough to be relevant on all the Diablo forums.
If a Remaster gets confirmed, then talk specifically about the Remaster probably shouldn’t happen here (unless Blizzard says so, like with D4). But as long as it is news/rumors, it seems to fit perfectly fine.
