Season 19 - we have great gear perks. Augment first time gems around level 85 and then 2nd time around 100? Then done or do you do a third one?
How many slots are there? 11 or 12 something like that and leveling 11 or 12 gems to 85 and then doing it again to 100⌠ugh. Just do 12x100 once and hope you donât get upgrades hahahâŚ
2 things:
- 13 slots
- Completely agree, full 85âs is a grand waste of time and other resources.
Okay, third thing: my (solo only) experience has previously been that I needed (as a WD) one augment at 85-90 to âget the ball rollingâ, then I was able to go for the rest of the set at 105+.
This season howeverâŚwith the new gear, and still new-ish Carnevil buffsâŚ100 for first augment. Yeah, baby. (Again, all solo.)
Chiming in more. I forgot to answer the âhow oftenâ part. In case it wasnât obvious from my first answerâŚI aim for one set of augments only, per season.
This season⌠I am going for minimal augments at all. All my off-season gear is betterâŚand it would just be a waste of higher gems.
Instead, I am just funnelling all gems up to flawless royals and levelling all leg. gems (that dont have caps). I will burn them all on the better non- season gear.
100 --> 120â>140s
OR
100 -->130â>150s
Itâs simpleâŚ
- level up your first augment gem as high as you can and then augment it
- with this extra damage/defense from the first augment, level up the next gem as high as you can then augment that
- repeat for remaining 11 slots
As others have said, hope you donât replace one of your augmented slots.
1 set fully with a mix of lvl 90-100 augments.
As a solo player thats already time consuming,no way I would level them again for a bit of extra stats.
I try to only augment gear that Iâm fairly sure I wont replace or its simply good enough for me.
This Season I only had to replace 1 item that was already augmented âchanged my mind about the rollsâŚâ
The exact level depends on your build/skill cap and how casually you are playing. Two sets works well for anything more than casual but less than elite level of play.
First set, rank up to the level where you arenât busting your back to do so. ie If you are failing or spending 15 minutes on rifts, itâs probably not worth it for your first set. What is a 15m GR now will be a 5m GR when you are done with the set.
You will still be getting item upgrades frequently enough to make maximum effort a waste at this stage.
With the first set complete, push for a while. When you hit your cap, pick a number a few levels below it. Work your way through the second set.
This season, I did a set of 100 augments and am following up with 120s. Currently pushing GR 123. Iâll do one last set at maximum level after that.
FWIW, nubs and casuals tend to vastly overestimate how much time you will spend on augments. They also tend to make inefficient choices pursuing a low total time. For example, itâs often worth throwing in a few 50-75s early in the season when those numbers represent good chunks of your main stat.
Any casual+ player should have a good speed build running low level GRs under 1m30s. The last few ranks of an augment take the majority of the time, hence shooting for a medium level with your first set.
If you spend a season really pushing, you are going to wind up with more gem ranks than you can spend. Youâre going to spend more time just playing the game than you will merely âgrindingâ for augments.
Thanks - will work on leveling them up
