Attack & Defense

What’s up with that? It is so binary… Why is Diablo IV even less RPG than ever before? Blizzard should definitely take a look at D&D:5E to get inspiration on how you build/customize a character through ability scores.

While I do think that there is a thing such as stat overload I do agree that from what I’ve seen things seem to be rather basic with D4.

There should really be an advanced stat list that shows you everything that you have when it comes to items / passives and so on.

People bring up resistances but I’ve come to be rather skeptical about that as well because that may incentivize having to swap items in and out a little to much. This is coming from playing Grim Dawn where you want to reach the cap of all resistances, have items that increase that cap and then simply over cap those resistance thresh holds in case enemies can debuff you.

So if the usual max is 80% you want an item that increase that to 85% but want to overcap to say… 95% should an enemy lower your resistance by 10%.

Another problem I have seen is stat bloat where you’ll have items that you could literally scroll down when it comes to all the stats. It’s pretty ridiculous when you reach that point.

This is one of the areas that I am not liking. I understand that sometimes it seems like “stats are there for stats” so I just feel like items need more than attack/defense in terms of itemization.

Does it need to be character attribution values? Not necessarily but more is needed for certain.
