Are the new wiz/barb sets as bad as people are saying?

Nope. A casual perusal of the leaderboards would confirm this.

Glad it’s working for you and you’re happy with it!

Sadly same can’t be said about TV hydra set for Wizard. With 1650 paragon, couple ancients, 2 augs and lvl 112 gems I can consistently do 110 with about 2-3m left (depending on maps / pylons and boss ofc).

I highly doubt 250 more para would give me a 7-11 GR boost even if I do aug more pieces (in fact am 100% certain, heck even if I had all gear primals and fully augd I couldn’t break 117 most likely).

The dmg output is too small even at 10 stacks of taeguk, with BoT 100% uptime and grouping mobs as often as possible (depends on map ofc). Meanwhile at same para and similar gear levels my LoD Meteor smokes 120 with like 5-6m left, my LoD BS Crusader can do 115 in about 6m etc.

Gearing a WD Mundungo as we speak and am quite certain with similar gear levels she would go at least 115+ without breaking much sweat (as I will need to learn the playstyle obv, so prolly 117+ once I get proficient at it).

The modifiers are too low for supporting legendaries and 6pc bonus. If you want more toughness and wear unity, then bye bye CoE (190-200% multiplier lost) which you can’t make up from somewhere else. But if you are fine with the toughness (up to 110 it is fine, after that it gets problematic), you still can’t add more dmg.

We badly need 6PC bonus increased and / or add another arcane spender to it (like Arcane Orb or Energy Twister etc).

Speed wise works amazing for T16 and sub GR100 content, just replace DW with teleport scepter, swap a passive for astral presence, and you’re golden (obv teleport will never be on par with other classes mobility but hey at least it works for what it pretends to be).

Well i don’t know about that but there seem to be Savages builds far far less usefull being posted. All i know is i did a GR 121 when previously i couldn’t break 117 even with WW/Rend. Also we won’t know until season 20 starts. People don’t seem to care bout the new set all that much but i think this build deserves another look. It should be at least on par with the best Barb builds out there!

Yea new hydra set is a major letdown. I used to play that build couple of seasons ago just making it out of scratch with LON set. It was fun but lacking in power. Now they released a set that needs major buffs. It’s very squishy and also lacks damage.
Hydra definitely needs another hard look by the devs!

WD seems fine to me. I did a 100 Gr and 110 2 player and seemed fine for the fact my gear is complete crap and i don’t have any augments.

With very similarly geared Barbs, I’ve done a GR125 with WW/Rend and GR121 with Frenzy. If you’re pushing more successfully with Frenzy, that probably speaks more to your ability to gather density with Ancient Spear than anything else.

Density and scouting ahead for pylons / elites it’s key in pushing GR’s, past 100 you can’t simply just engage whatever is in front of you and fight to the death then move to next enemy in sight.

I literally had to drop a GR 115 despite getting festering woods because I had 3 packs with horrible affixes (vortex nightmarish electrified shielding arcane) and there wasn’t a single pilar on whole map (all those affixes literally blow for a channel build especially when you don’t have CC immunity on a skill in your build).
