The wizard or at least when I play the wizard, he constantly runs out of Arcane power. Is there a way around this to where Arcane power doesn’t constantly drain and empty to where you are put in a bad position to defend yourself? Is it the type of build you use? Any advice out there?
Without knowing anything about you build or skills I would simply say stack some resource cost reduction or look for arcane power on crit (if you have some crit chance). If you use Arcane Torrent, Disintegrate, or Ray of Frost you could use Hergbrash’s Binding belt.
A number of your Primary Skills have runes available to them that let you gain arcane power when you hit mobs with them, e.g. Shock Pulse / Power Affinity, Spectral Blade / Siphoning Blade and Electrocute / Surge of Power.
An ‘Arcane Power on Crit’ roll on your source can help.
Worth noting that this requires you to actually have a decent amount of crit chance on your gear to really be effective. If you’re missing a bunch of crit chance rolls, Arcane Power on Crit won’t work work very well.
If you are talking about your seasonal wizard, you are missing crit chance in most slots it can roll. You’re missing crit chance on your gloves, helm, one ring, and amulet.
Roll life% on helm to crit chance. Roll life on hit on gloves to crit chance. Can’t have crit chance and a socket on that amulet, so it’s fine for now, but be on the lookout for a better one that can have both. And get a new Karini, you mucked up the roll on that one. Should have rolled life regen to crit chance instead of rolling the int higher.
As a general rule, don’t ever roll the mainstat higher on gear that already has it. Karini has a guaranteed int roll, so there was no need to roll it higher. You’re basically always better rolling something else, even if it rolled on the lower end of the range. You also rolled int higher on your shoulders, should have rolled Explosive Blast Damage to Hydra damage (or even a toughness stat like vit or life% still would have been better than rolling the int higher). And you rolled int higher on your chest, could have rolled something else there too.
And if you have room for it in your build, Shame of Delsere combined with a primary skill is also a very effective way to get Arcane Power back.
There are many items that can roll Resource Cost Reduction (RCR) as an affix, like amulets, rings, weapons, shoulders, gloves, etc. Yellow Topaz Gems socketed into a helm will provide RCR. Wizards can also get the affix which restores mana on critical hits - this rolls on helms and off-hand sources.
A good helm for a wizard (because of their shields) is Pride’s Fall, which lowers resource costs, and can be obtained from bounty caches. The wizard also has a legendary belt unique to their class which reduces the cost of channeling skills.
There are skill runes which lower mana costs or restore mana when cast, and passive skills which restore mana more quickly. If you use a follower, the Templar has a skill which will increase your mana regen as well.
