Anyone elase here running Diablo 3 in Linux?

In my case it’s Linux Mint. I am having zero issues. Granted I have spent many years tweaking my computer to run most Windows games but for me Diablo 3 works great. Just carious if I am the only one or not. Thanks

Hello i run battlentapp on ubuntu 22.04 + Lutris.

Works perfectly on Steam Deck through proton. Too bad I still have to play the Switch version due to a handicap.

I am really surprised that only two people answered this so far. I expected a higher number of Linux users responding.

You shouldn’t be… As far as gamers, Windows massively dwarves Linux users… Although Linux has been rising recently with Steam paving the way.

“For desktop and laptop computers, Microsoft’s Windows is the most used at 69%, followed by Apple’s macOS at 17%, and Google’s ChromeOS at 3.2% (in the US up to 8.0%), and desktop Linux at 2.9%. In addition, 5% is attributed to “unknown” operating systems - which are likely forms of BSD or obscure varieties of Linux.”

I’d love to ditch Windows for my everyday gaming needs… The flexibility and compatibility is just not there yet.

Steamstats show 97.43% of steam users using some version of Windows, 1.19% for Mac and 1.39% for Linux.

So yeah, Windows have a HUGE market share of PC gamers.

I disagree with you about compatibility. My second computer is a Windows 10 computer. It houses my most powerful system yet the Linux computer is up and running in half the time at half the power. And yes both computers have SSD’s for the OS. At this point in time, I have about 90 percent of my Windows only games running in my Linux computer. And this includes Skyrim which has a history of not running well in Linux. With the latest Wine updates I now have Skyrim running as smooth as it does in Windows.

The bottom line, you must work with the Linux OS and play with it to make everything work and not everyone is up for that. I get it, but its a great OS. My opinion.

Well, 90% with I would assume a non trivial amount of work vs 100% with no work. Yeah, compatibility is not a matter of opinion, it’s a fact, Windows is outstanding in that regard.

I will eventually take the Linux plunge if things keep progressing as they have been.

Eventually I’ll get sick of the advertisement BS and overall extremely bloated OS that is Windows THAT I PAID FOR and jump ship to free OS island. It’s coming sooner or later. Microsoft should be worried, but I think they’re more worried about extracting every dollar they can from humanity before it happens en masse.

I have never used Linux before buying Steam Deck, but I love it, it reminds me of Amiga OS back in the day. Was gonna install windows to feel more at home, but I put that idea to rest after giving Linux a chance.

I can just imagine the “virtual” performance upgrade from switching to Linux with my Ryzen 9 3900x, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD.

The compatibility of Windows is still intriguing… If on a whim I want to hook up an old gaming controller to my system… It just works the vast majority of the time.

Well, last Windows I paid for was 7, I’ve used both 10 and 11 since then.

Hi. I just loaded Garuda on a separate 128G SSD and got Battlenet and Diable 3 installed via Litrus after some manual package installations. I’m surprised I’m getting 120+fps on Linux compared to 60+fps on Windows 10. All settings high. (Not that it matters for this game, but I thought it was interesting enough to share).
