Launching console version without lobbies = making a dead game. I was a Blizzard fun for so many years, bought D2 for PS5. But it doesn’t make sense. Trading, communicating in lobby is a soul of D2. Why not to launch these features on consoles? I’m so frustrated, it just doesn’t make sense to play and try hard.

The games multiplayer is so broken without lobbies right now… matchmaking doesnt even support the most basic obvious feature of grouping up with friends prematch and then a lobby leader joining a public game… no way to make a private game and invite friends then make it public… and beating a quest turns the current game into a free roam game instead of making it the next available quest when searched. This is so inexcusably broken at the moment and needs some big changes. Its worse than the diablo 3 auction house in my opinion… they clearly never played a modern game with matchmaking… and switch the default player count to 8 so people don’t have to switch it to 8 every single time when searching… not that you will ever find an 8 player match on console because its basically impossible. I join a public game and none of my friends can join me… i make a private game where i can invite them and the public cant play with us. This is one of the worst game designs in history, especially considering original diablo 2 lobbies is such a basic and easy to use thing… if it aint broke dont fix it and at minimum DONT Delete the original system if the new system doesnt work and is awful. So absolutely disappointed with the god awful state of multiplayer on consoles. We deserve call of duty style matchmaking lobbies and we deserve a game browser like original diablo 2… its so obvious this was completely cheaped out on and it destroys the multiplayer experience that makes diablo 2 a legendary game.
Yea I bought this game not knowing there wasn’t going to be lobbies on playstation 5 if I would of known I would have never bought it, they won’t fix it either they already got peoples money no need to fix anything, can’t team up with nobody easily, why play it I can’t show off my armor or weapons or do pvp, where’s the glamour in this game when it’s just you…

I have been playing diablo since Diablo 1. I waited in line over night for the D2 release. I’m not a huge fan of Diablo 3 as it moved further away from horror and felt more like WOW than Diablo. So when I saw D2, my favorite game ever was getting remastered and released on console I was really excited. I ignored all the nay sayers all these three months and continued to grind out my favorite Amazon character from 20 years ago. I wasn’t worried about the lobby issue. Ladder wasn’t out yet and I was sure Blizzard would make it right. We’ll now with ladder becoming more imminent, I am getting worried. Where is the lobby? Where is chat? How can we build a community, an economy? How can we trade and build parties? The importance of these functions can’t be overstated especially when competing against those who have them. Ive defended Blizzard all these years feeling the community had grown too entitled. But these are core functions of an already existing game. I’m starting to get a pit in my stomach as I realize that maybe it was me who was wrong about Blizzard all these years.
