so i just got primal executioner on my barb. Is there any viable build that could use it?
Followers can use it for some benefit

I’m using Executioner in my cube on zMonk in 2-player. Pretty useful for support if there isn’t a Necromancer cursing things in the party.
Obviously that’s not a use for a Primal though (cube, not wearing).

Definitely viable on zmonks, and I haven’t used one yet, but it amuses me greatly that a build that does practically zero damage, is suddenly 1 shotting things under 10% HP

It’s actually dumb that followers are not allowed to proc it. I cannot see solo being as powerful as groups even with that item. Either they might have this fear or it’s not working as intended and they simply state it’s intended - so no bugfix is needed.

It’s a two-handed axe which means that the Templar and Scoundrel cannot equip it. Therefore, if the legendary power worked for followers, it would make the Enchantress the de facto choice of follower. This is precisely why they didn’t make it work for followers.

This doesnt answer the OP at all as he is talking about barb. Not a cheese zMonk.

There are some places you could use it LoN wise for barb. Im not going to link them all . Im sure uve heard of Google but you would be playing at a much lower GR capacity then just using sets for example.
New items are great but unfortunately even primal versions for barb specifically dont really help that much. Its a known fact that barbs struggle compared to all the other classes and atm are pretty much used as zBarbs.

In cube instead of In-geom. A lot of builds use it for speed farming keys, gem levels etc.

It would make that necro skill that instant kills enemy under 15% hp die instantly become almost useless.
Um i was clearing showing the OP mate in my post an example of where executioner can be used as he asked about Barbs specifically and advising Trep that he has not asked about monks. I dont know how thats a bad thing. 1 ive given the OP the advise they ask and 2 correct a player who might not have read the post correctly dont know im not pyhicic
. I hope my advise to the OP helps them maybe make a cool LoD barb. Not super OP but fun. Thats what LoD is all about my personal favorite is frezy or seismic slam barb for LoD

While I doubt my reply is unclear to the OP, just in case. Sentence by sentence…
General advice provided as we are in the General Discussion forum. This is how I personally use the Executioner at present, and answers the question posed in the title of the thread. The OP also has multiple characters on their profile.
That said, I believe it could be valuable in the cube on any support character, which does include zBarbs (and others amazingly enough). However as the Necromancer curses are stronger, it may not be useful for support if there’s a Necromancer in the group running Frailty / Cursed Scythe.
I’ll add to this now, I’m sure it can be used (again in the cube) in some solo builds. I don’t know the viability of specific builds wearing in hand, considering it is a 2-hander.
Referencing the comment regarding the primal, I noted my advice was cube related, not primal related (which you would prefer to wear) for completeness.

zbarb can use it in the cube if you have a DH or Witch Doctor or Sader or Monk as rgk for the free weaker version of curse
