I stand corrected on an earlier post. There is not a cap on points; the cap is on the distribution of points. So you can at least keep earning points to add to non season at season’s end.
IMHO the new system is ok for the fissures and T16. But it seems a bit underpowered (at least compared to past season buffs) for GR. I see several posts for increasing the distribution to 1000 or higher. That would help, but I think reducing the scale of each attribute to 0-100 or 0-150 would be a good way to get more bang for the buck, still keep the 800 limit, and give a bit of help to the movement speed.
I know your are looking for an alternative play to constant GR grinding, and that’s fine. I understand that a cap helps level the playing field for the leaderboards. Also fine. The professional players (bots, probably) don’t have any trouble getting to 150 in a couple of days, but for more casual players, it’s a little hard (impossible) to do, especially if most or all of our play is solo.
One way or another, season play in general offers some advantage in power you can’t get in non season that makes it worth your while to start over. I’m sure I’m spoiled after season 28’s Altar, but I still think the paragon distribution limit is a bit underpowered.
