EDIT: The drop rate from the hotfix update the other day seems to have Angelic Crucibles around 1 in every 15 GR90’s or so. Someone that’s better at math and runs can verify the exact number I’m just ballpark averaging it here
Done, don’t screw with it further going to live please! My fear is that if it’s bugged with the stats right now having “perfect” normal range and even changing ancients back to normal that when you fix to eventually become as promoted, primal ancient ranges that you’ll lower the drop rate, that would be a huge mistake considering the RNG still needed to get a desirable item. Perfect primal stats is no big deal compared to what the focus should be the angelic powers, no need to make them so rare like the current base game.
Also another thing that’s perfect for wizard is the 20 fire rate of magic missiles, don’t screw with it it’s done for a couple reasons:
Perfectly balanced angelic power, not UP not too crazy OP. Those thinking it’s OP haven’t actually pushed with it, it’s only about a few tiers higher than Spectral Blades currently is, it’s just it’s way faster for speeds creating the illusion that it’s very strong when it’s just super fun to feel actually fast which has been a struggle for 90% of wizard builds in the past. No further touchie!
Players complaining about lag is a two fold effect going on (or three fold depending on connection/pc ect).
2A) It’s PTR server, Live will be less laggy
2B) You have Area damage on, take that ish off FB6 doesn’t benefit from AD!
2C) Don’t hold down the button on 100+ mobs! You wouldn’t do that with any traditional FB build on live why are you doing it here? But if you’re really still lagging then don’t use Echoing Fury, huge loss for speeds but gotta do it for push anyway.
The other wizard angel powers are pretty underwhelming, creating the illusion that 20 MM is very strong. Even if Arcane Orb DMO can high tiers, it’s more than likely the effect of the extra 15% DR + Primus bubbles + teleport mobility than actual damage coming from the power, it needs a buff. Arcane Orbit is also still too weak.
I have to hard disagree with that. This is as much a draw for me as the powers, having a primal version of an item I actually care about instead of my 7th primal Rakoff’s Glass of Life. I don’t play enough to grind out a full set of good primal gear, and it’s not like we get to keep it after the season anyways, so there’s no reason not to give us a single useful primal during the season.
Then you’re agreeing with me lol. I said that in context that it’s not a big deal if we’re decked with a bunch of primal stat weapons or whatever other gear; it would give more casuals the feel of having more primal items.
Traditionally everyone treats Primal items like they need to be this ultra rare thing. Like why? It’s 1% power at best…who cares if we have an inventory selection full of them when we can only use one or not for one season. Not gonna break the game.
Well thanks for your disagreeing but agreeing response though
They’re dropping really frequently now from the hotfix, my hope is that they’ll keep it this way because exactly what you said. Most are tired of that formula.
Not even remotely. Season themes are supposed to be special and fun. Giving us a primal would cover that, making it something that we need to grind for would ruin it.
What do you mean? Maybe I should have clarified - I’ll edit my main post. Angelic Crucible’s are dropping at some 10-15x more than Primal items atm. Before the hotfix they seemed to be as rare as primals, maybe 1.5-2.25x at best.
Considering that each Crucible has only a 33 percent chance of giving us the power we want, and much less chance of giving us the power AND affixes that we need. I don’t feel that the drop rate is there yet. I still after approx 24 hours (combined over the days since PTR started) have gotten only 4 total. That is basically 1 (one) chance given RNG of getting even the power I am after, to say nothing of affixes. Also given the number of tries I have had to go through, even 4 may be far too low to gain just the power even, I have had the wrong powers come up 10 times in a row or more.
If a single Crucible could guarantee what we want/need, then yes sure the drop rate is fine. But that is not even nearly the case.
Wait somethings wrong…I was getting them frequently now I’m getting nothing but gem drops which shouldn’t be dropping wtf. Seems like they’re taking up the loot pool.
Maybe I spoke too soon here. Did you still get only 4 after the hotfix though? I know they buffed the drop rate, just I guess not like 1/5 I’ll edit that.
I only had 1 drop prior to hotfix, the other 3 have dropped afterward, still too low IMO. Of those 3 I did get 2 at the same time, from an RG. It’s just so very rando.
I’ve only put in 6 hours into the PTR, about 1 of which was leveling, and found 5 (and 4 of which were found playing solo), all pre-hotfix. I certainly don’t consider that normal. Others claim they’ve gone 8+ hours without one.
It’s similar to the Petrified Screams. If you look at the 3 gems to 65 conquest, you’ll notice players started to complete it slightly after 3 hours into the season. Prior to Season 26, no player had ever completed this in under 5 1/2 hours. For me, on Asia, I got my 3 around 6 hours into the season. On North America, it was about 7 hours into the season before I found my first one. And on Europe, I completed my Season Journey (about 10 hours in) without ever finding one.
The same is going to happen in this season. Some players are going to strike it lucky and get AC after AC, and may have 10+ before some unlucky players even find their first ones. And it’s not about the drop rate in that regard. Even if you bump that up, some players will then find them constantly while others will still strike out for hours on end.
I cleared over 50 GR’s since the hot fix and. I got 1 – ONE – Angelic Crucible in a rift in solo play. I also got one in an Echoing Nightmare. That’s it. I did get more in groups but if you have to group to get crucibles that would suck rancid lemons.
Okay I think something is wrong here, might even be a bug. I was getting them a lot more often and don’t think it was just RNG.
I need to get all the legendary gem drops again because I used a jewelry bag, I believe many here might have the same problem. We cannot get legendary gem drops, they’re probably taking up a crucible drop slot.
Did everyone experiencing low drop rates make sure you’re not getting legendary gem drops? If not, do that then try the counts again. I will do so and try 40-50 runs again.
Yeah the drop rate is too low. The season theme should be fun. Make em drop a lot. At the end of the day you only can have one item equipped that has AC power so why not have a lot.
Frugal drop rate will amount to a frugal amout of players hanging around 2 days after season starts.
Lets not repeat S26 drop rates. Lets learn from our mistakes.
To me the drop rate seems in line with D3’s general RNG. Reached 600 paragon and so far I have had 4 crucibles drop from speed GRs. They appear to be more likely to drop in under the 2 minute mark. Though that is from a small sampling.
Edit: I also didn’t start playing this PTR until after the hotfix.
To those saying the drop rate is fine and it’s just RNG please stop before you type. Just think of this before you make pixels appear on the screen.
What happens if the drop rate of AC’s stays low like now. As a seasonal theme it is not affecting you but others may have bad RNG with rolls or bad RNG with drops so they may stop playing.
What happens if the drop rate of AC’s is increased a lot. As a seasonal theme it only affects you whether you use them or not BUT others wont have bad RNG and they WILL have more rolls to avoid RNG on their one (1) item so they’ll keep playing longer.
A high drop rate wont affect you folks that think its fine but it will affect others.
Let em drop a lot more. Keep players interested in the theme and hopefully retain them for longer than 2-3 days.
Indeed. They already limited it to only one can be worn, so even if they rain from the sky we still won’t be able to wear more or be any more powerful than if the drop rate was low. A higher drop rate gives us the option of creating a more precise item for our 1 (one) wearable option. A lower drop rate means we will have to settle for whatever we can get, which is the opposite of fun. A higher drop rate would also mean we can experiment with other item types and other build arrangements. A low drop rate will not be productive for experimentation. A higher drop rate means that we will be more likely to begin enjoying the actual Season effect earlier, whereas a low drop rate means that some people may never even see one and end the season never having experienced it at all.
Fine, it’s not perfect but it certainly is better than last season. I’ve gotten 0 echoing screams this entire PTR yet I’ve got 6 AC’s to drop.
It’s pretty safe to say if I do 50 more GR’s my AC’s number will still overshadow Screams by a lot, but I’ll do it anyway just to satisfy those who say I’m getting lucky.
I really think it has to do with jewelry bags being used, thus its coding us as never getting all those gems…so they drop them again and mess up the loot pool but I digress as by now it’s not doing that for me.
